going to update mine soon, the car have to be running or just acc power while its updating?
They told me the card would arrive in 7-10 days. Shipped out today.
That was smart. What was I thinking? Maybe I wasn't thinking. The new SD card replaces your old one and remains in the car. according to the instructions. I put the old one in a safe place in case of a future problem (like the new card going bad).
Cheers
cool thanks for the infocar will need to be running as the update takes some time.
@Kazz The SD card is kept behind the SD MAP "plate" (right above the HAZARD button), inserted in its slot. I think I tossed my original card. But I don't remember for sure.

I think both the cards and electronic updates are keyed to the individual cars, so the old ones are basically shot glass coasters ...Ah, OK, so we may see older SD cards showing up in places like eBay, etc. That's what I was doing for my wife's Acura.
It would make sense if they did that.I think both the cards and electronic updates are keyed to the individual cars, so the old ones are basically shot glass coasters ...![]()
My Dealer updated mine at its 10,000kms Service, we/I get free life time updates here on the Stinger in AU.

I sort of agree with you, they are car manufacturers, I suppose they are at the mercy of the mapping companies so they have to also wait for up to date maps, doesn’t make it right though.Yes that is what was installed in mine last week. Pretty useless really as today I drove on a section of highway that bypasses a town. The road was opened about 9 months ago but only showed up on the gps as a grey type soon to be built road. Seriously is this the best that KIA can do relying on a mapping company that doesn't even have up to date maps? What was I expecting!

I don’t see this as an issue for me, as this thread states I was commenting on the sat nav update, again it works well for me & does what I need it to do, I bought this car for what it is, not for what it might/should be.See if they'll give you the transmission Sport mode update everyone else in the world seems to have except Aussies. So it will stay in manual mode when you put it in manual mode...

Well I didn’t want a manual, owned manuals formerly, I don’t want again, I haven’t even used the flappy paddles so I don’t get your issue, if you want manual mode buy something else. It's supposed to be a different car in Australia? Because everyone else in the world has what would be expected on a car like the Stinger, which is a proper manual mode.
