Te chrome tubing is a nice touch though.
I’m not sure where you’re getting your information, but the opposite is true.Seriously drop-in is the best way to go for performance. For sound the open WAI is the better option.
It's really all about what the individual owner wants more, a lot of extra pssh or a little bit extra power .
There's a video on YouTube showing an open WAI similar to K&Ns gaining a mere 4 hp to the wheels. And that was with a cold engine with the hood open. I'd guess a warmed engine with closed hood would loose a bit of power.
For more power, throttle response and awesome turbo sounds the cone filter short ram/semi CAI systems win hands down!![]()
I choose to believe the short ram is better simply because i just recieved mine, ive gotta psyche myself outI can agree with that statement.
Unfortunately unless the intake is sealed from the high heat of the engine bay it isn't anywhere near a CAI.

I honestly neevr truly believe numbers unless it is porveb by other sources, that being said, i just hope i dont lose power, then o will definetly be a little ticked, i plan on putting in a wmi later on. Living in LA with my 3rd turbo car i know buy just that sound man lolHa. I feel ya man. Like I said it's great for sound and I'm sure it'll give ya some placebo effect, if nothing else.
I'm sure you're well aware of the drawbacks of removing a part that is designed to keep warm air away from the intake and replacing it with something that will pump 200+ degree air directly into the intake.
Will it sound cool? Hell yeah!
Will it look cool? Youuu betcha!
Will it make your 0-60/quarter mile faster? No!
And a side note for people relying on dyno results from parts manufactures. Stahpit! Their job is to sell you a product by showing you how great it is. Instead of relying on their results go with the results of independent 3rd party testers. Those are the results that matter. And in the one review I've found of a dyno tested HAI on a Stinger the car only picked up 4hp (and that car was tested with the hood open and fans blowing directly into the engine bay--imagine the results of a car sitting in stop and go traffic while it's 95 degrees outside...yikes!)

I dont take offense man, this is how we all learn, everyone is entiltled to an opinion and their own likes. No one should feel offended, modding is exactly that, becauee we all have our own tastes in the music.Ya know before owning this car and being on the forum I didn't even know anything about the pssh sound, not even on the turbo Optima I traded for the Stinger.
Now I'm riding around with a car that sounds like a beer being opened whenever I dump the throttle. Pretty groovy.
I want to add, regarding my above posts I don't mean to sound preachy. I'm a firm believer in "to each their own" and don't mean to sound like anything someone does or doesn't do with their car is either right or wrong.
That’s the Injen, not Stillen. This is stillen! I think Forum member on IG has it. Looks similar to the DIY. But gonna be more money like the K&N CAI though.

So then you agree the K&N Typhoon and these DIY short ram intakes are superior to drop-ins in every way I listed.I can agree with that statement.
They are both “semi” CAI systems with the K&N being one step closer to a true CAI. The K&N has a heat shield built around the OEM intake inlet and insulation foam around the box that almost perfectly seals it away from engine bay heat. It’s the same principle as a true CAI that pipes into the bottom of the front fender. All 3 are positioned up front and away from the engine to draw cooler and much more air when accelerating, especially at higher speeds.Unfortunately unless the intake is sealed from the high heat of the engine bay it isn't anywhere near a CAI.
Lol, don’t be discouraged by non believers.I choose to believe the short ram is better simply because i just recieved mine, ive gotta psyche myself out
Lol, don’t be discouraged by non believers.Just stick with the facts of physics, and real turner verified dyno tests I listed above and you won’t have any reason to doubt your purchase.
