EK1Pro Tune - Sixth Element

Will jb4 still be needed to control CPI or can the Ek devices or rather tunes from Sxth or Burger handle that in place? I wouldn’t mind getting rid of my jb4 for some more money towards these new tunes.
There is a future tuner in the works with Sxth. It will be a hybrid of a piggy back yet have the ability to go deeper. That includes controlling things like injectors, nozzles, timing, ect. So sort of a JB4 but with way more power to control the things in the ECU without a flash.

Did a1/4 pull today with a slow launch(2-3 psi). Road is too dusty from melted snow so I didn’t try launch any harder. Seems like mid 11s is guaranteed with a proper launch.10A7D7E0-25EF-4A4E-8555-FC4A1B41003A.png

Got my first taste of the stage 1 TCU tune from Sxth this morning, 10-110 pull, shifting between 5800-5900 every shift, keeping the car in higher boost the whole time. That part was expected. The unexpected part was how smooth the gear changes where. No jerking, no clunks, no squeaks, if I was not looking at the tach, the only way you would have known it shifted was the sound of the exhaust.

Dammit...pulled the trigger on the EK1. I guess I'll make a decision later on what tune to load. On the fence with JB4 back end flash or Sxth Stage 2 high torque? Am I right in assumed it's either one or the other? Can't do both?

The back end doesn't really add a whole lot of performance, just fixes things like it should of been from the factory. Boost curve, a bit of timing, torque limits. The stage two does those things and dozens of others. Like fuel maps for E-50, more aggressive timing, more boost. It does require either meth or CPI though.

I saw a Stage 2 91/93 Octane 470whp/490wtq for $450 on the SxthNk tuning site that was posted a couple days ago. Sxth also has a Stage 2 back-end flash for piggybacks that disables ISG and increases timing.

how do you see the Stage 2 back-end flash? I'm only seeing the Stage 2 91/93

It's on the last page
thats why.

my calibration ID is CENNDM_U_N2B. Yours is different which is why I don't see those

Yeah I haven't created my account yet pending my EK1 coming in a couple weeks

makes sense. I'm guessing you can't mix and match them which is why it doesn't show in my account. Same for the TCU tunes.

What do have now? So you'd have to revert back to stock then buy the back end flash tune because you have a different tune?

I assume stage 1 is actually 410whp and the 310 is a typo..
No that's right. It's Stage 1 for the Elantra not the Stinger. Stage 1 Stinger is 440whp.

Don’t buy anything yet! Go DM Nathan first to make sure that he wants you to flash your ECU to a different ID or not. I have the same ID as yours and it’s PITA to tune cuz it’s a unicorn one. I flashed to different ID to try out new stage2 and now I have to wait till Monday for him to make a new onecuz all my old files have different ID now

I don't have the ECU tune yet, I only have the TCU tune, and am waiting for a new file from him as i lost launch control after the flash

So with the back end you still switch maps with the jb4 like always, it’s just fixing some limitations in the ECU?
I’m considering getting both a stage 2 and back end tunes, using the back end for DD, and the dedicated tune for the track.
Also, the stage 2 plus meth says 70% methanol needed, not easy to get straight meth here, VP speed sauce+ is 80/20 ethanol, would that work?

You can definitely run as fast as full tune with backend but you have to ask for more timing like I do. That 17 deg one for sale wouldn’t do the Job. Also EWG is must have when adding high rpm boost.
