Let us know if you get nature sounds ;) I don't think so because you are 2018 like me.

Were you having trouble getting past the original v12.x software that requires a double update?

Just so you know, that chart only details changes to the maps. There are many, many other changes to the UVO system that are embedded in these updates. KIA doesn't bother documenting them properly.

Which is why I said it was just a map update for me. I managed to get the previous version while it was available. SD card was only slightly over half used, no system update was performed beyond a reboot.

Marc - I do have the nature sounds on my 2018 GT2

So the story is this. In late June I downloaded the installer, popped my Navi card in and had a corrupt file. I tried a few times and called KIA and MNSoft. They told me "update coming soon lol have a nice day bye bye".

I was trying to update from CK.USA.V087, to the version I'm on now. I have been trying for roughly 2 months to get my Navi card loaded and into the car since the files were corrupt. Every couple of days I would throw the card in my computer and re-download the files and try it again. Only to get the Error 107 during the update.

Last week I did the update and threw the Navi card in the console and never tried it until yesterday. KIA Corp called during the update and told me 14.5 was coming out today.

So in short, the files corrupted files in the KIA update program were fixed, and 14.5 was released.

So I'm doing a double update since it's free.

If its just map updates Im not gonna bother with it, can someone post if they notice its more than just maps?
I was really hoping that wireless android auto support would be added...pipe dream

I am hoping to run mine tonight and see what happens. I’ve got a ‘18 GT2 that currently has 13.5 on it, and obviously Canadian. I’ll post up what I find out

"Not secure", really, Kia!?:confused::cautious:

Right, but did you install the version intended for the 2019/20? Sorry if you have already provided pic/info specs, but what did your old one say and what does the current one say? There are two questions issues here:

1) Can 2019/20 software be loaded onto a 2018? There must be some reason they have a separate version, but it is the same car....?

2) Maybe the Canadian update already came out, or, is delayed, because when I try to download it tells me that I already have the latest software (on my hard drive that was used to copy on to SD disk), which I got long before today. So is USA delayed and just coming today? That is my suspicion based on the versions being installed today having numbers that match what's already on my car. But more info is better if you can share yours.

I don't think you are fully understanding how it works. There is a UI update and map update packaged together that cannot be separated. When you get one, you get the other. However, sometimes the UI updates are so insignificant that we might not notice. This last update changed the map graphics, so it was very easy to detect. Earlier versions added, for example, Bluetooth texting support, and apparently, nature sounds ;)

I just downloaded the update files for 2018 model and file sizes are exactly the same as for v14, so don't think they uploaded v14.5 onto their servers yet. Wish the updater shows which NAM version you're actually downloading.

I installed ver 14.0 in May. The current update I made today (Ver. 14.5) did not change the Firmware Ver or the Nav. App Ver.-- it just updated the MAPS/POIs.

Yep. This is solely a map update. I'm just going to wait for version 15 in the spring.

Weird, on my 2018 Canadian model it said that It already had the update which I downloaded today and after running it again none of the versions changed.
Will try downloading again but maybe they had already released the Aug. update early by a couple of weeks.

On a side note has anyone figured out how to disable those Sounds of Nature? I know I can mute the volume on them and make the selection not go to them via the wheel button but they are super annoying to hear when the car starts.

That was my thought, too, about the update being out there early for Canada.

However, I thought there were no nature sounds for 2018's, so can you do a favour and post a pic of your version #s from the info screen? I will do the same.

Taking the updates offline in Canada and then putting them back online and then also releasing the Navigation Updater software that does not require VIN and all the other rigmarole of the prior version seems to have confused some aspects of this!

Could you not go To MEDIA BUTTON & ensure Bluetooth Audio is selected

Or....Have your RADIO on.

Just did the update this morn, went from 13.5 to 14.5 on an 18 and I have the nature sounds now.
