• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

Preliminary read indicates it must be genuine kia parts only. just need to find out which parts those are. Nothing about having to take it to a kia dealership.

I know its in the Kia Warranty book.. But can someone give me an idea of how many services I need to comply with to keep it up to warranty? or if i even have to? I keep seeing some bad posts about services and care from Kia dealerships. Lets be honest they have never had a twin turbo car that performs like it has and I very much doubt they give any care to a $60k + car and/or the experience to make me want to pay expensive dealership service prices.

To maintain manufacturer warranty, you need to ensure that appropriate servicing is carried out as the service intervals they define.

You don't have to use them for that servicing, just a qualified mechanic. You don't have to use OEM parts, just parts that are suitable and meet their specifications.

If a dealership tells you that you have to use them, or their selected brands, ask for that in writing so that the ACCC can confirm their position.

That should make for an amusing backpedal. They cannot bypass your rights. You can't even sign them away.

We can discuss length of warranty in another thread - but the tl;dr version is that the arbitrary warranty time-frames set by manufacturers are largely irrelevant.

Thanks Manaz. I knew this would be the case but wanted some more confidence lol. Good to hear Kia cant force me to take it to there mediocre mechanics.

Hi Everyone,

A few days in with the new beast and loving it. Washed it on Sunday, then it rained on Monday and got filthy so gave it a quick wash tonight again. Have a good long drive to Ballarat and back tomorrow and then Geelong on Thursday. Will be interesting to see what the millage will be like.

Getting used to the adaptive cruise control. Helping me stay further back from the vehicle in front but it didn't stop a small chip in the windscreen. I didn't even hear anything hit it. Doh!! FFS. They seriously need to toughen windscreens. I can't wrap the beast in bubble wrap as it wouldn't be very aerodynamic.

So comfortable to drive and handles beautifully. A real dream to drive. The SatNav seems an older version as it's picking up old fixed speed cameras. My Sportage had newer satnav version. Will check with the dealer at 3000km service.

Loving the new car smell. The leather smells so nice and hope that I can maintain that smell for as long as I can.

Thanks to everyone during the past 3 months since I placed the order. You reaffirmed my confidence in the car and brand, not that I had lost it, it's just good to hear the positive vibes.

Will update more at the end of the week after my longer drives.

Me too, I just try to keep savouring that smell for as long as possible. I use the " new car " tree air fresheners and a " new car " spray air freshener that @Ozstung Kindly gave me when we met each other in July. Also " no junk food " rule in the car and you will keep it smelling super for ages :D:thumbup:
Oh, and no dogs allowed......they go in hubby's car now ;)

Evening All,

Here's my update on mileage if you are interested.

From home to Ballarat and back on Wednesday, approx 115km's each way, 8.0l / 100km's.

From home to Geelong and back today, approx 75km's each way, 7.0l / 100km's.

Very impressed considering the car has done less than 500km's. Even around home it was doing under 12l / 100km's. It will only get better unless for some reason I become a hoon. Not likely to happen.

How did the get together go last weekend? Did many turn up?

Stinger owners are all in the habit of " strategic parking " so you can imagine my delight when I went to work and found an excellent park :D

After work, parked near was a V8 Mustang, I like the vents on it's bonnet. It would be good if ours were functional and maybe similar.

Now that's one of the most perfect parking spots in the history of parking spots, what could possibly go wrong , nothing I say, if I parked in that exact car spot and when I came back to my Stinger, someone still managed to damage it , or left a trolley next to it, I friggin give the hell up. Oh..you left you driver's door open..:):rofl::laugh::rofl:

Lol, door open coz I was taking pics of Pony car next door.

I knew it, your still looking for more horsepower.. are you saying the Mustang was already parked there, and didn't take advantage of your park earlier ? maybe another car was parked there and left before you showed up I guess..:)
