I just installed a JB4 myself about a couple weeks ago. Fully stock AWD, no mods outside of Denso spark plugs gapped to .022 as recommended by BMS. Map 1 was a huge improvement over stock. Very noticeable power increase at both low and high speeds. Map 2 has been giving me some "issues". I occasionally hear some odd sounds between shifts. At first I thought it was knocking, then I thought it was just things sliding around in my car between shifts, and now I'm not sure haha.I recently bought a JB4 and currently have SSR downpipes installed, would I have to change my OEM spark plugs for aftermarket plugs even tho I only plan to run map1 or map2 if possible? Also can I run map2 with 91 octane or would I have to stay on map1 regardless of having the downpipes? Having downpipes and JB4 map1 what do you think my whp would be at and what kind of 0-60 and 1/4mi numbers would have residing in SoCal?
I'm running 93 octane in New Hampshire so I technically shouldn't have any issues on Map 2. Aside from the odd sounds I occasionally hear, the power difference between Map 1 and Map 2 is hardly noticeable (at least on my Stinger). Even looking at the logs, the boost levels are pretty much identical between Maps 1 and 2 for me. But that could just be because I don't have the fuel wire hooked up yet.
All that to say, you'll probably be fine with 91 octane on Map 1 for a great performance boost, but I would take it slow on Map 2 with 91 octane and watch your logs closely. Terry from BMS is a great resource too. Definitely send him your logs if you're ever unsure.
As for 0-60 times, I've shaved about .2 seconds off mine, give or take. I'm only measuring with the JB4 app, though, so it's not terribly accurate. Honestly, you'll notice the biggest improvement in the consistency of being able to get a hard acceleration pretty much any time you mash the pedal. I feel like my stock Stinger was hit or miss with whether or not you'd get pushed back hard in your seat. Even with my issues on Map 2, the JB4 was 100% worth it. You'll love it, even if you can only run Map 1
