Hello everybody..
So...
I am really New to all things Stinger..
Just purchased my 19 stinger gt1 last month..Leaning towards Angency CAI, and their intercooler..Still on the fence as to which cat back exhaust I should purchase like the sound Borla produces(even though I've only heard sound clips). Joined this forum so I could get information from individuals who have been in this game a lot longer than I have. Any information will be much appreciated. How much drone does the Borla cat back have?

I have had the Borla typeS cat back exhaust for over a month now ,, there was no drone with the Borla when I still had, all the rest of the Exhaust stock ! Now if you add after market mid pipes to the exhaust removes (secondary Cats), that will have some drone on hills , the biggest difference if you hit the fuel peddle hard ,,the dead will rise , lol ,,

just a foot note ,,I had a muffler delete for 2 days then had two resonators put in ,as the Drone was very strong ! Hope this helps you ,, just for the record I really like the Borla and it with me to the end LOL :):)

My plans (for now) was to just do the cat back.
With the rest stock..
Curious though how difference performance wise was there when u did the first exhaust mod as opposed to when u added mid pipes and such?

When I put it the Mid pipes on and my performance chip in Race mode and did a launch, the exhaust flowed a bit too fast causing over boost/ over spooling , here the ECU kicks the fuel off for a bit but with just Borla Cat Back everything went very , just adding the mid pipes changed the way I work the throttle, meaning that I can not hold it to the floor or it goes into limp mod from the ECU , later on when there a 2 Nd stage flash is ready , I will get my ECU re flashed to stage 2 when it one is available! For the chip I have now , I don’t won’t push the fuel pedal so hard and on that note , with the Mid pipes added you are increasing exhaust flow and as I have said earlier with just the Borla , everything worked great hope this helps :)!

There are many good performance chips shown on this site , for myself I use Race chip , as for warranties you can go though the Forms on hear ,, but warranty as for me I would it is mostly voided on the drive train components ,, but others may no more that I do , so please read warranty info on the forms ! I have found this Stinger Site really helped me a lots as well as, to what Mods I wanted and ,where to get them from and we all share everything on here to help each other s in our Quest for the Mighty Stinger GT lol

If/when you do this can you get part numbers / dimensions on the resonator? I asked the OP of that video and he didn't throw anything back out there.
I don't know that there would be a part number per-say as I think they custom cut the length to tune it for a specific frequency. But maybe there is a 24" long silencer kit P/N XXXXXXXX that was cut to 19.5"
If not then dimensions might be the only thing that we can get. Thanks in advance!

If I decide to go that direction I will ask. But I’m still unsure if I want to spend the money on custom DPs instead. More power & performance for $450, or more sound for $700o_O As they say, decisions decisions;)

Can you share your current set up? I would like to do the same, it sounds amazing, just like I want and you said no drone so

My exhaust is stock. I just shared someone I found on YouTube. Unfortunately he wouldn’t respond to anyone’s questions about it but here is a link to his YouTube channel with more videos.kevin boyd
 
They only way you can get the roar without drone is by adding side silencers/helmholtz resonators.
My exhaust shop just quoted me about $700 for this setup and guarantees 100% NO drone!:thumbup:

Yes, I sent them the same images & videos I posted above and they said they could replicate it for $700. They knew exactly what it was and said they’ve done many before just like that. It’s simply an axle-back exhaust with side silencers/J-pipes/helmholtz resonators added to the end.

Any reputable exhaust shop should be able to make the same setup. The tricky part, and what we all want to know is the exact size of the helmholtz resonators. If I had the extra money I’d do both and be the guinea pig for everyone, but I’m leaning towards the secondary DPs for the best hp/$.:cool:

I would just try the JUN BL down pipes and see how the sound is for your liking first , maybe a good place to start with :) just my thought s he he

Thanks for another example of helmholtz resonators for our Stingers. Just ashame that one is sooo quiet. It looks very nice and expensive, but basically sounds stock.:unsure:
