Jesus, just put those part on with a friend and a case over a weekend. Your surely going to realize how simple some of that stuff is. Good luck for sure.

Just got my Borla Cat back put on yesterday and I have to a say it is great as the way it is tuned , calm when you want and roars when you pound the throttle :) sound s nice than my muffle delete , no drone on this Borla , yeah lol

$10k for a catback?! Lmao! Why?! Who?

What kind of idiot would pay 25% of the vehicle's cost for a catback? Aftermarket exhausts for Ferraris don't even cost that much!
My cat back run only 1700 installed ,, 10 k is off the grid lol IMHO :)

Almost read through all 25 pages haha
Still don’t know what to get... I had an Invidia q300 on my Cooper S and the drone was quite annoying so I am definitely looking for something that is not going to drive me crazy in the cabine. Some of you have had their exhaust for a year or close to - what is the verdict now ?

Should I just go with jndl downpipe for performance and quit the roar sound search?

I don't know if there is an affordable drone free exhaust available. I would keep clear if i were you. Ive got the Ark and had to have it mofified and put down sound and vibration deadener. There is a heavy penalty if you choose poorly. Good luck.

Still waiting for a report on the SSR midpipes plus Magnaflow axle-back...

Thermal is drone free.

Magnaflow is probably drone free.

Stillen had a cat-back for sale last year that was also probably drone free. I only know of one person who bought it, though. And he eventually canceled his order due to production delays. I haven't seen anything about it since.

Hi Kazz ,
I see you are getting Mid pipes as well but a axel back, what I am finding out with the mid pipes as they remove the secondary Cats and , have the Cat back Borla together , under heavy throttle mine goes in to limp mode for a bit most like it over spooling/ over boosting , it would be interesting to see other members on here are having this problem:) TBH until using the mid pipes , I never had over boost problems, I just came back after talking with one of local tuners which was were I had my last Dyno done at lol

I don't recall ever reading a post about anyone going into limp mode after installing mid-pipes.

Are you sure that's what is happening?

I had the SSR midpipes installed. They replace the OEM midpipe that incorporates the secondary cats. There are no O2 sensors in the secondary cats. And there are dozens of owners here who have had them installed with no issue.

The downpipes are what is attached to the exhaust manifold directly and incorporate the primary cats. This is where the O2 sensors are located. And any replacement I've read about on this or any other forum creates an overboost issue that has to be corrected via tuning.

I think you have had the downpipes replaced in order to have the problem you're reporting. Exactly what parts have been replaced in your exhaust and what has been installed to replace them?

I have K/N CAI , JunBL mid pipes ,Borla type S cat back , it seems since the added Jun BLs my stinger over boost and the ECU put it in to Limp mode LOL SOB lol

I'm not familiar with the JunBL product. But if it or anything else has modified the downpipe and/or primary cat, I'd expect your problems. If not, I'd say it's not related to the exhaust. Hope you get answers soon!

My down primary pipes are still on as it would throw code s , only the secondary cats went bye bye on the mid pipes lol but together with Borla , it flow s , the new Map update perhaps for Race Mode pulls hard and the mid pipe most spools up to fast perhaps:) just wondering if any one else who has this setup , is having this over boost or over spool up troubles!!!

What "new Map update"?

I am considering the HFC primary (200~300cells) + straight secondary pipes + stock catback combo, anyone tried that before? Does that still throw a CEL?
I am not pleased by any exhaust note on this platform so I prefer it to be quiet, but I eager for more power.

They only way you can get the roar without drone is by adding side silencers/helmholtz resonators.

My exhaust shop just quoted me about $700 for this setup and guarantees 100% NO drone!

If/when you do this can you get part numbers / dimensions on the resonator? I asked the OP of that video and he didn't throw anything back out there.
I don't know that there would be a part number per-say as I think they custom cut the length to tune it for a specific frequency. But maybe there is a 24" long silencer kit P/N XXXXXXXX that was cut to 19.5"
If not then dimensions might be the only thing that we can get. Thanks in advance!
