Stinger JB4 Pure Hybrid Turbo Testing

Believe or not I beleive the guy that has the hybrid turbos will be getting tuned by presertech. The JB4 won’t be running the car at all. I know people like to use back back end flash loosely but all that means is that the piggyback can run it properly so you need an ecu tune. I beleive presertech will tune his car and he will use the JB4 to run the wmi. We will see where he is at this summer. I was planning on going on a road trip to Atlanta on June with a couple stinger guys local to me to get tuned at presertech. Now that BTR is working on a tune it all depends if they release it on time. I will not wait for them past June.

JB4 will be used to fine tune boost level, and drive additive boost on WMI. Just like it is on every other stacked flash tune/JB4 combo. Thats how its supposed to used in high power builds. Not sure why this thread keep going back to the flash vs piggy back bullshit every other thread devolves into, as it has nothing to due with tuning. Its demonstrating new hybrid option. There will be others soon. To take advantage flash tuning will be required, and JB4 can make it even better. Being first takes time on new platform. be patient

Makes more sense, because if you're at the track and want to reduce boost in 1st or 2nd, or increase boost based on WMI / octane you'll need a JB4 to accomplish this. I'm super excited if Pressertech works out well as this will actually make it viable for me to go the hybrid turbo route having them semi-local.
 
To properly tune and get the most out of larger turbos you're going to need a good flash map AND a JB4, for various reasons already discussed.

They're definitely working on it, I assume it won't be long now that they have the ECU flashed

It’s right there in the post. It certainly doesn’t get the responses the other cars get either
they're just commenting on the dyno and how low the power is. People are getting high 400s on stock turbos so I tend to agree with them, their Stinger dyno with a basic tune isn't very impressive.

So they didnt do a custom dyno tune? They just sent their ECU to Pressertech for a stage 2 tune without considering the upgraded turbos?

@Crewdawg130 i know you have been on. Whats the deal.

I don't know what they did, I'm assuming they did some kind of tune to get it to run but not a full custom ecu tune, that's allegedly what they're waiting for.

It sounded like the tune from Pressertech was just to lift the limiting factors (torque limits, etc) as they are still tuning with a JB4.

He is not Tunning with JB4 lol

He is getting an ecu tune from presetech and JB4 will run WMI.

When you say Tunning with the JB4 it implies that is what will be running the car set up and it’s not.

I believe he will end up taking a road trip to presertech this summer to finalize everything. Only time will tell, but one thing that we know for sure is that he needs an ecu tune.

Source? The instagram post a couple weeks ago said they're dialing in the JB4 - nothing about using JB4 only for WMI.

Remember ecu tune alone on a big turbo set up can run the car properly without a piggyback. Now a piggyback alone cannot run a big turbo set up properly.

Yes, an ECU tune is looking to be required on this car as there are limits in place that can't be overcome by a piggyback. But that's not to say that a piggyback can't be used to fine tune boost, traction, WMI, etc... Unless you're going standalone a piggyback is a great idea to use in conjunction with an ECU tune (other platforms also do this very successfully). It would be cool if Pressertech and Pure partnered for these hybrid turbos

It is for presertech tune lol and vacation. So both. Well it will be a custom tune when I go with all my boltons. Why so negative about presertech lol, everyone that has got a tune by them really like it.

I am not trying to hear no piggyback running circles around nothing lol The only thing I am running circles on is to sell this dawn thing and make few hundred buck out of it if I am lucky.

I am certain he will use both and agree on that both have its purpose in the set up.

I don’t think he wants to deal with all the fuckery of this forum lol once he is done with I am sure you will see him on top of the track list.

I would not be surprised if he is the first person to break into the 10’s with an actual stinger and not corvette.
