2018 Stinger Recall - Wire Harness May Be Damaged By Fender

magnuson act allows mods (I think I spelled the name correctly) if I am not mistaken, as long as the engine hasn't been opened, and can be removed easily, the mods can't void any warranty. look at mugen, stillen, etc, those are installed on cars from the factory. I think if you take your turbos off and put on some no name brand turbo off of ebay and grenade your engine, then you are probably up that famous creek.

Well this is my first post, dropped off for the recall on Jan 25th, Dealer will not have parts to fix the car till mid March. So it will be near 45 days. So do I lemon law it (Indiana) or see what Kia is willing to offer? I love the car so I’m torn.

Really? Your car isn’t going to explode.

You need to partner up with the guy who bought a car up north and the dealer didn’t swap the summer tires to winter... or maybe the guy who’s wife hit the fold mirror button at night and was petrified and nearly died. Call Larry h Parker. He’ll hook you up. (And consult amiss Cleo while your at it).

What parts, the grommet or does your entire wireing harness need to be replaced?

Not sure, but right now there are 8 other cars all there. Apparently once they examine it they can’t give the car back, so it’s not a fear thing, it’s a sorry work order is in and we can’t release the car until it’s finished.

Find another dealer.

They can't release YOUR car that you have paid/are paying for?

The dealer has been great, but with no parts they can’t fix it, there are non around. Corporate confirmed to me that once the car is there it’s stuck. So they escalated it to help resolve the situation. Correct because it’s a safety recall, it’s a different deal. The fact I’m paying for it is what our discussion will be about, compensation for the lose of use.

So if you go to the dealership and take the car will they call the police and tell them you stole it?

You do have a second key fob, right?

Must be some weird state specific law...

Honestly not sure, but I may just lemon law it, and do a G70, or have them cover my payment for 2 months. You don’t realize how great this car is until your rental is a Cadillac XTS

That's the first car I ever had challenge me in the Stinger..those things are pretty slow.

Here’s what you do. Call the premium hotline. Demand a loaner.

If they’ll hand me one for having my moonroof looked at next week, they’d have to give you one for not having your car for that.

So did you call the premium hotline and logged a case/complaint yet?

Yup that’s where we are now. The loaner is a Caddy

Yea, no rule saying the loaner has to be cool. Kia rented me an Altima when my car was in for service. And not a leather/GPS/sunroof/v6 Altima, either. I had the "rental" edition.

Had my harness recall done and didnt realize the dealer scratched the hell out of my wheels. I should have done a complete walk around the car. I didnt notice until a couple of days later and I didnt drive the car because of rain. How does one scratch a customer wheel if it didnt needed to be taken off?? The dealer contacted me via email and was more worried about the negative survey I gave them lol. I got the wheels fix but rule of thumb always check your car after a dealers visit!

I’d suggest you go back and ask some specific questions. You won’t be able to lemon law it without the info anyway.

If they are waiting on the grommet, look online, the part is like $3. Plenty of online parts resellers had them in stock a few weeks ago.
