Hi there @phxgt , during Oct '17 i did my research on Stinger and went to maybe 4 different Kia Dealerships, one dealership had a Sunset Yellow Stinger GT, with the Red seats making it one of a kind, maybe even too this day, i was told the dealership could order a one off in any combination, but that was SOLD. Anyway, after i had done the test drives, a few days into Nov'17, i made up my mind and signed the contract for a DeepChromaBlue StingerGT, even though there was none to see in person, BUT , and the big but was that i would wait for my Stinger to be built in Jan'18, and it would be built as an order in that colour for me, from the factory, on the contract it was clearly stated , January 2018 BUILD ONLY, just my preference, so as i hope you can guess, i had to wait from the start of Nov'17 to at least Jan'18 for the car to be built, by the time my Stinger arrived, it was late Feb'18, i saw and sat inside it while it was still in the holding yard with all the white protective plastic over it, and those cute little blue foam squares on the doors..haha, anyway exactly to the date, i picked it up 4 months since i had signed the contract, that's my story and that's how i got a Jan'18 build, the patience to wait i guess.
Yes I do remember those days of yours and Av8r's, you guys had more patience than me, I ordered mine in August '17 and put a clause that it had to be delivered before Christmas. It was 4 months of torture 2 weeks before Christmas they told me another 2-3 months, I said well you know what to do. 2 hours later he procured another dealer dealers stock but not in red leather. 1 week later she was mine. My order wasn't cancelled and someone else ended up with my car. I was offered a yellow one or a white one in the October but I said no. Have you added any k's on your beast yet @DCBStingerGT .?

Hey there @Ozstung , i have put some k's on her ( don't know why i call my Stinger HER) anyway it's funny you should ask me that today, yesterday i went to a company that sells quality car covers...haha, i hate how much dust sits on her, even within hours of parking it in the garage, and after a wash, these sway bars i am reading about seems a good idea, do not intend to re-badge, but i do like the Stinger badge on the rear like you have done, should have been that way from factory, and i love the Deep Chroma Blue more everytime i see it, it's like i'm seeing it for the first time everytime, i honestly never wanted to just garage it , more than driving it, but since i still have my 2004 VZ Commodore, there is no way i intend to use the Stinger to go to the shopping centre or to work, and the lack of Stinger meets here in Melbourne really sucks, wish i could get some Victorian owners together to do a Cars and Coffee type meet maybe once a month or so ?

Totally agree with you there, never any doubt we made the correct colour decision. The dust does spoil that freshly washed look within a day or so. Im also looking for excuses to drive it more. Had the car 1 year yesterday, have clocked up 9277 km. Which is very similar to my last "Weekend" car being a WRX which was 13 years old with 124,000 k's on it.

Gotcha, guess I used a poor choice of words. I, of course, was referring to buy as in actually pick up the vehicle. Not referring to the idea of prepurchasing a later build..

Happy Holidays everyone!!

Just as well you didn't buy black or a Deep Chroma Blue they're a nightmare to keep clean trust me.
DCB was my first choice but when I saw white on the showroom floor I totally changed my mind. Gave it a wash and wipe down this morning and it's spotless. With ceramic coating the dirt literally hoses off but at the last Repco sale I bought a wash product called Nanolicious Wash by Bowden's. Hadn't used it before and OMG at regular cost of $63 for a 2 litre bottle usually wouldn't consider it. It's a fabulous product and leaves a great shine. Should make the ceramic even more repellant.
My $4 Kmart super absorbent MF towel also did a great job...will invest in another.

2019 GT Limited Aug/2018 build, fortunately a lot of the issues i've read in this forum appear to have been from earlier builds and/or US builds.

That product would be creating a soft water effect, i.e. neutralizing the minerals in the water that make it hard (mostly calcium). As long as the minerals are more attracted to the surface of the water than the surface of the car (i.e. floating in the water), your microfiber will work well. If your water is hard (e.g. straight from the hose in most places), applying even the best microfiber will not remove water spots, because the minerals are all at the bottom of the water, attracted to the surface of the car, and the microfiber only pulls the water out, but leaves the minerals stuck to the paint or chrome; rubbing them "out' only rubs them in.

Good stuff, that’s what I’m going with once the Protekiv shampoo the dealer gave me runs out. I have been told this is the ducks guts & judging by your comment above you agree.
I wouldn't use anything else now...did an amazing job.

Does the combo of ceramic and this make it easy to get all the stuck on black junk off? What's what's killing me on my car. I don't want to clay it every wash but it almost needs it.

I don't really have any black junk, only car park dust and normal road grime from driving in the rain.

Same, still got a pretty full bottle of the protektiv stuff but will get this when it’s gone. Already use the drop bear they make and bought myself a big green sucker after seeing the video posted on here recently, and another cloth they have for windows which is going well on the film of crap that seems to always get on the inside of the front windscreen. They seem to have some good stuff, and it’s Australian made

Manufactured Jul 2018, bought it 12/6/18 - Red Premium, no issue so far.

Nov 2017 Snow White Pearl, no paint issues. Creaking noises from sunroof. Radio fader issue (solved by pit stop ticket). Differential noise (solved by dealer replacing differential oil).
Not clear on what can be done to stop radio fader from mysteriously "migrating" to the rear of interior.

Like robz said, fixed by a pit stop. And even more specific PS573. It will be fixed by an update and if that doesn't work, the stereo is replaced.

Build Date 12/17, two issues total:

1) Loose wiring harness in the lift gate, resulted in a partially lit rear-left running light at night.
2) Excessive paint chipping in the first 1000 miles, most of which occurred during the very first weekend of ownership. Car has been completely repainted.
