I can imagine how much you would lose on trading in a 1 year old Stinger

About 18K. I just got my insurance renewal. The valuation has gone from 65K when it was first insured new to 47K a year later. Granted their valuation may not be gospel but you’re still going to take a fair sort of hit.

Just curious, why? Only difference is the heated steering wheel. I know Canberra gets cold but seems a bit extreme for warm hands.

I definitely didn't do it for the new features (NVH in roof and Heated steering wheel) although the heated steering wheel is a nice to have in Canberra.

... and that's before the running costs for the year too.

A bit of story behind it and why I decided to upgrade.

Ooh ooh, let me guess. Let’s see. You’re in Canberra so I’m guessing you’re with ASIO and the Russians/Chinese had “made” your ride so you’ve upgraded to throw them off the scent. Am I close?;):p

Definitely not a Tom Clancy best seller...
... the more boring reasons for selling the MY19 as it exhibited the following "new" car features:
- noises from the sun roof (rattle in glass and creaking from the frame),
- noise from the dash (creaking and rattle in the instrument panel),
- noises from the front driver doors (rattle and seals),
- constant noise from the body (flexing and creaking),
- squealing Brembo brakes (apparently that's "normal" in the Manual and the Dealer said to "deal with it"),
- HUD projection shaking on sealed roads in Comfort mode (let alone the blur that was in Sports mode),
- Ticking noise from the engine bay (Turbo apparently),
- Losing power under acceleration on a few random occasions (it's a strange experience seeing the tacho go almost zero went going up a hill),
- Front driver side windows not closing all the way into the window frames,
- No access to map updates (even after speaking and writing to KIA and the Dealer),
- are what I can recall for now but there are more.

Some of these were fixed by the Dealer while others were put down to "the other ones on the lot are same."... to that's all part of the experience.

The build quality is what has got in the way of enjoying an excellent design idea become reality...

... so why buy another one?

Wow! You sure hit the “jackpot”. To have all those defects in one car is incredible bad luck. Hopefully the new ride has rectified all that?

Wow, let’s hope the build quality in your MY20 is better.

Maybe you're beginning to understand why I traded in a 12 month old new car to give KIA one more chance before moving on... sometimes it's not about the money...

Obviously a politician:p. But seriously good luck and great faith shown brother Stingee.
