What do you think

I think you must be rich....just kidding.

10 months ago, dealers were offering winter tires & alloy rims for around $1,600. if I remember correctly.
Have you asked your dealer what they have to offer?
My tires @ Costco were somewhat less than $1,200.
OEM TPMS sensors you get for around $30/piece out of China - in other words, if someone claims $100+ per wheel for TPMS you are being scammed.
Presumably, you checked Tirerack's database for theirs and their user recommendations.
Do you need Winter/Snow tires or could you get away with A/S tires? GTA has pretty benign winters, and heavy snow is cleared quickly.
I took the car early February through Pennsylvania, West Virginia to Florida. We had snow and the car was caked with stuff, but driving was easy.
What are the speed limits of these tires? Not that you will be going 270km/h every day, but then, one never knows?
I would get quotes from Kal Tire, Costco, dealers.
Make sure you get the PPF on, the salt and sand thrown up will do a number on the paint.

Lol. I wish then I wouldn't have to be looking for deals eh. ahah. I had signed the bill of sale with my dealer during a time where they had free witner tires or 2 year maintenance, but unfortunately I don't think they are including it in my stinger for an unknown reason. They have not responded to my request and such so I might be SOL. Hmm I think what is causing the price to go so high are the rims. I mean I calculated the costs of the tires and rims that I was offered to be around 1900 tpms I know you can get in korea for 120 or so dollars for all 4. I doubt I will go that fast during the winter. That will be suicide hahah. I average 120 on the highway if it's clear on the 401 atleast lol. I will check out Kal Tire, costco and reinquire with my dealer. Any recommendations for a good place that does PPF? I know they are a bit pricey from like 1500-3k

go that fast during the winter

...of course not. And I did not think you would.
If the dealer has tires & rims to sell, they will do so. If you had no luck so far to talk to the salesperson, don't waste your time and ask for the General Manager.
Put the onus on these guys. They knew winter was coming, they are looking at this situation every year. You were too excited to think that far ahead. Now it's time to correct the oversight.
See what he says. If the response is negative ask him is they would be more comfortable if you and your friends/family/acquaintances were seek out another dealership???
But check with another dealership (or two, or three) beforehand, to have some baseline.

Consider that the A/S tires will give you the closest driving sensation to the OEM summer tires. So if you drive for the next 6 months on 225/45 you'll be surprised when you put the real shoes on.
I am in Mississauga, and Pure Auto in Mississauga (pureauto.ca), 416-894-9147 - Mark, looked after covering my car. They did a good job. Tinted also the sunroof. All in all, I paid around $1,600., but my hood came already with PPF. If you go, tell him Hans with the grey Stinger sent you.

Funny enough I was already speaking with the Manager when I made the deal. Certainly, I will give another dealership a call to see what kind of tires they have going.

I checked out pureauto.ca It looks like they do the whole stretch of everything. I will certainly give them a ring about their packages and let them know you recommended them. I plan to pick up some OEM TPMS and have them install it. I was wondering if you know if KIA OEM TPMS require reprogramming ever time the wheel has to be mounted? Much appreciated Sir. Thank you

Does anyone have a link to the china tpms sensors?...That would be awesome to just slap on a set of wheels and have the sensors all set to be ''read'' by the car....

KIA OEM TPMS require reprogrammin

I am almost certain that OEM or OEM compatible sensors are being recognized by the car without programming, but you would want to check this out to be sure. Tire dealers should know.
I have not seen any tire work at Pure Auto, so I don't know whether they do installations of that kind.
When are you getting your car? What color?

There is no rule that you HAVE to rust proof your car immediately after purchase. If you drive a clunker in the winter, you could wait until next Fall. But if you need to drive it through the worst season of the year, why not protecting it while everything is "fresh"?

Firstly, get PPF on all of your chromed parts, bumper, hood, A-pillars, door sills and the rear bumper. I would do that before the Krown (or RustCheck as in my case) treatment. Saves on a lot of cleaning before the film goes on. Do the wax after the PPF.
I suggest you take possession of the car with the panels already off. Let the dealer do it. Explain why.
The panels are fixed with a combination of bolts and plastic clips. The OEM (self-threading) bolts have lock washers & washers incorporated. Keeps the parts from getting lost I guess.
If I am not mistaken, there are a total of 25 bolts for the six panels. No need to get self-threading ones. The clips don't rust. I don't know what you mean by lugs. Anyway, put everything back once the dripping stopped.

You should update your profile with your location.

You ARE passionate about exterior protection. I've thought about some sort of rust-proofing, but I'm of two minds about it. I have some thoughts. Wanted your and others' reaction.

I live in Michigan where they use a lot of salt. Back in the day, rust-proofing was a 'must have', but car manufacturers' paint/sealant processes and technology have advanced and are light-years better over last decade or so. Examples: I bought a 1987 Taurus new. Didn't RP it. I sold it 10 years later with almost 200k miles on it. It still ran like a top, but was a rust bucket by then. The last new car I bought before the Stinger was a 2008 Altima coupe (3.5L SE). Again, didn't RP it. Put 265k miles on it as a DD. Other than the expected nose chips, the paint was still excellent and there was not a spot of rust anywhere. I know of many others' cars purchased new in the last 5-10 years, without after-market rust proofing, but no rust problems

I love my Stinger but still wonder if rust-proofing is now a 'nice to have' and worth the expense. Thoughts?

I consider it cheap insurance in and for our climate.

The annual treatment is now $140 incl. taxes. It provides protection against rust and deterioration of seals, brake & fuel lines. In addition, I feel the car runs quieter.

If I were to trade a car in every 3 or 4 years, I may not care. On the other hand, if I were to decide for it, it would tell the next purchaser, that I cared for the car and that may easily be worth another $300 or $500 to the buyer. In a sale, I would expect to get the relatively small expense back, and the next person would have a benefit.

In respect to the Stinger, we don't know yet how good the finishing really is. One hopes to extrapolate the quality of this car from the other models manufactured, but this car still has to prove itself. I hate to be disappointed when I could have done something about it in good time. :)

1. follow much that has been mentioned in previous posts
2. always park where door dings CANNOT happen.
3. limit as much as you can fast starts and hard braking
4. will not drive the car in the cold (below 45 degrees and will keep the car parked in the garage when at home base and keep the tires (summer) away from really extreme cold in the winter.
5. use the highest octane gas you can buy....straight gasoline.....we have 91 in OK and do not use inferior....stay away from cheap gas such as sold in some convivence stores....I buy Phillip 66 as is available in OKC
6. clean car immediately if bird dropping land on surface....my yellow won't scar up as bad as a black but it will and that is bad
7. no eating or drinng of anything in the car (except myself)
8. no putting packages on car at anytime, including grocery sacks
9. no leaning against car
10 no clothing allowed that have any thing that could mark up the leather seating.
11. no children allowed to ride in car....they cannot be trusted
12. no animals allowed to ride in car
13. no dirty shoes (wet or muddy soles NOT allowed) you find another ride
14. don't think about it if you think I might lose it.....I did have road rage and a moderate amount of other car rage…..now it is full blown crazy......I do not carry a gun as I have no interest in going to prison for killing someone and becoming someone's B. (I am not kidding and this is not funny....I am serious as a dead dog)
15. as they say when delivered Chinese food at the local Cantonese eatery, "Enjoy" But not in my car.

yes, me too. I hate to lie to a patrol man if he asks if I have a gun when they pull me over. Because if you say yes, I do, it becomes a big deal and the chance of getting shot goes up...I will leave it at that.

I was actually packing..(the temp plate blew away from the window)...and I was pulled over....Hands wrapped around side view mirror.....cop comes up ,says'' whats all this?''Tell Him I have a permit and the gun is in my waistband....from there it was pretty cordial, told me why I was pulled over, and I told him why I was packing...he said pull away after we leave....( reason I was packing I was going to a pick an pull that day.

Fred, you are a very funny guy. Seriously. Not below 45F? In Oklahoma? You must not drive your babe for nearly half the year, then. That is too OCD, imho. Bend a little and take her out except when you know the road surfaces are frozen: this won't happen just because the air is at 32: it takes days on days of twenty-four hour freezing temperatures, to overpower the warm ground temperatures of summer and fall. The tires will warm to the road temperature and then a couple of degrees above that from friction. You are safe on your summers. Enjoy!

Pretty much everything else on your "list" I mostly agree with. I bend a little on kids in the car. But not food and kids combined. Adults, trusted ones, can eat in my car. I'm not a candidate for road rage, imho. So I'm safe as any normal, sane human being.

Actually we are not below 45F as much as one might think and I will drive it when the temp gets above and there is no chance of ice/snow. I have talked to my buddies and they hate to use these summer tires when it get colder and they get slick, they crack when they freeze, and since I have other cars to drive I will just keep the Stinger in the garage on really cold days I will drive the car but very limited in the months of DEC, Jan, Feb.

yeah kia forte will be my ''bitch'' this winter.......I won't be in a hurry to clear snow off the stinger........car can sit as is, haven't seen one melt away yet.

"Other cars ... in the garage". Well, yeah, that would totally change a word view! I have ONE car, in a north-facing carport. My "daily driver" is my only ride. I've taken Spanish Fork canyon with snow flying near the summit. I've driven into snow storms. The outside air is freezing. But, for weeks prior, the air had been mild and warming: barely freezing at night, and well above freezing during the day. This meant that the ground was not freezing, not even at night. There was some light slush trying to form in a few limited spots. I went carefully, feeling how the grip was doing: it felt fine the entire, brief distance of the high mountain snow storm. On the return trip a week later, there was still accumulated snow on the ground. But the roads were clear and outside it was well above freezing by that time. Only later, I found out (here) that summer tires can crack! WTH!? Would I make the trip again, knowing that? Yes, if the weather trend had been as I have described. I would not rush out to drive on summer tires on ground that is still frozen, even if the outside air had spiked into "Indian summer". It takes frozen ground days on days to thaw, after it has been deep frozen. And the reverse is also true: dips into freezing conditions will not make warmed ground dangerous to summer tires until the ground freezes from continual freezing conditions where even during the day it doesn't get warm enough to keep the ground from freezing. The tires cannot freeze and crack unless the tires actually FREEZE.

One thing is for sure...the day I see a tire freeze...that'll be the same day I head south forever.

That's quite the assumption
