Please share ways/actions to extend longevity of Stinger

Okay guys best interior detailing spray/protectant on the market is "303 Aerospace Protectant"...it produces a nice matte finish and it even has UV protection. I've been using it for years and it's never failed me, it's not greasy, you can use it on plastic, rubber, leather etc. but it's best served to wipe down your dash and plastics. Bonus, it's made in the USA.

Awesome - I'll check into that as well.

You can sit on that stuff without it darkening your clothes?
I haven't a clue...never owned a saddle to soap....or a horse for the saddle for what it's worth.

Sad thing is nothing lasts forever......I hope the day I leave the stinger is a good one.

I would recommend staying away from Armor All products.
Totally agree, stay far away from Armor All products, totally destroyed my vinyl interior, dash & vinyl roof of my old 72 Holden HQ Premier back in the day, looks good but once you stop using it & in conjunction with hot Aussies summers totally dries out the vinyl causing it to shrink & crack.
I have had dealer paint & leather protection applied to my last 3 cars & all have held up very well, I only use a clean damp cloth to wipe out the entire interior still looks as good as new.

My Method is a little different......first I get together some tissue, then some porn...next , wait ,wrong thread sorry.

Saturday I armor-alled the interior and I always do the door seals as well - both of them on all 4 doors. Put a nice coat on them - enough to coat them well. I learned that trick from one of those "'ol car dudes" - it can only help. Don't know how many older cars I've seen with worn seals. I also put leather protector on all of the seats, paying extra attention to the 'contact' areas on the corners, etc.

I also got some after-market rubber floor mats. Found a set at Wal-Mart for $22.00 (Goodyear) that you can trim to size. This will help prolong the life of your stock floor mats. When I traded in my Mustang for this Stinger - the floor mats still looked brand new. They are very visible items; plus it gives two layers of protection for the actual carpet. They actually look nice in the Stinger! That kind of surprised me, but the black/grey look fits well. Can always pull them out if I want to really 'impress' :)

I can't post a link yet - but here's the number: Walmart # 551749090
They were cheap and seem solid - they are heavy enough so that they don't move around while getting in and out of the car.

With it being a turbo, I suspect the manual requires 100% Synthetic Oil? I haven't looked - but it won't matter - I'm only going to use 100% Synthetic anyway. Have been doing that for a while now. It costs more, but you get what you pay for.

I also plan on changing the plugs around 35K miles. Turbos will eat them faster due to the heat, etc.

And I concur with the above - investigate the proper washing techniques to avoid micro-abrasions on the paint. Typically you'll wash with one bucket and rinse with another, changing the rinse water fairly frequently. Don't cheap out and use dish detergent, it'll strip the wax. Auto soap is cheaper by the volume anyway. Lot of good videos on youTube. Don't forget to wax.. it should be good weather for it now. That'll be what I'm doing next weekend.
Sorry to say it but you made a big mistake using armorall on your interior as it has an oily residue that creates a film on your front window. rubber door trims yes but not interior panels.

they have a wax wipe out....Yes I used it........yes it works. but nothing beats elbow grease and a towel

And blow dry your car when you wash it with a leaf blower never use towels or a chamois as they scratch car paint and leave swirl marks. Absolute minimum drying cloth would be microfibre.

I was referring to wax application and buffing, x 2 on the micro fiber. When I wash a car it's always left to dry on it's own or take it for a spin......might give ''the stinger'' it's 1st Fükken wax treatment tomorrow, and a shot of motorkote.

If you're looking just to take care of the rubber seals, look at this (and basically ANY product from Wurth)

Rubber Care Silicon-Free 12 Oz | Rubber and Vinyl | Cleaning and Care | Chemical Product | Wurth USA

Zymol makes a very good leather cleaner and conditioner.

For those of you that REALLY like to take care of your car's inside and out, check out Larry and Ammo NYC. All of his products are AMAZING. If you have the time to watch and learn stuff like I did, you can learn a lot of science about his products on there and for the beginners, there's a LOT of how to videos and what to do and not do with which products. Highly recommend.

I’m in MA and the dealer told me with awd there’s no need for winter tires. I’ve always had winter tires. Not sure what to do any feedback welcomed - thanks

I wouldn't ever believe that. AWD helps, but when things are bad a FWD/RWD with winter tires will kick your ass if you're in an AWD with all seasons or summers.

The real question is: Are your winters bad enough that you should be using winter tires? After you've answered that question, AWD over RWD is a bonus, not a replacement.

new england winters are horrendous
