Which is everyone's favorite car wax?

I've used Meguiar's Cleaning Wax (in the tin) with complete satisfaction so far. Have only waxed limited areas where I buffed scratches, putting on three or more layers. It looks really good and seems to hold up well.

Can you wax the unpainted parts of the Stinger like side mirrors and the bottom back bumper where it is black? Not sure if its plastic. I know wax cant touch plastic. Thank you.

Depends on the wax, some synthetics can be applied plastics. Normally it’s black unpainted platics that Carnauba etc, will stain. Try chemical guys’ silk shine dressing. Works pretty well on black plastics and seals.

I wax the black chrome mirrors ALL the time.

If the plastic is glossy, almost anything can go on it. Avoid the dull and textured plastics though.

So did you wax the back bumber around the exhaust? Or that part is plastic and you cant touch it with wax?

I thought (or was told) that it's black chrome, and to use chrome polish.
If we're asking about the diffuser (or the splitter, for that matter), it's plastic, not chrome. Why would it need wax ever, at all?

Please Don’t use chrome polish, I’m almost certain it is NOT actually chrome. Black chrome is just the color. Doesn’t feel anywhere hard enough to be chrome and almost any spray detailer will work better. Trust me... spray detailer works well and less abrasive.

No need to wax that, you can “dress” that with Meguiars natural interior spray, the chemical guys silk dressing, etc. One of the only waxes that I know to be okay on that type of surface is Turtle Wax Ice... it’s non staining.

I use Blackfire on the paint.

Opps.... the kia salesman specifically said it's black chrome, just use chrome polish, when I pointed to the side mirrors full of water spots at vehicle delivery. When I took the car to get a basic ceramic coat a few days later, they were able to get all the water spots out from the black chrome colored area, not sure what they used though.

I’m not swearing you can’t, but I don’t see the finish lasting long using it.

Chrome polish is very aggressive ...and I dont think theres any actual chrome on the car...maybe exhaust? Black chrome is just a moniker for this piece of plastic....whoa...look at me I used a second semester word... Effin A Bubba :) Wash

all this detail talking...got me off my duff....my red stinger is bout 90 percent clear bra....so yesterday I clayed the parts of the car that were not cleared.....ive got in my arsenal Gearheads sealant...Chemical Guys hybrid wax,Blackfire sealant,Blackfire white carnuba paste for that fire n ice two step,Turtle ice,Jescar color lock, and some NSX...its been raining and cold so ive been testing areas with all of em inside garage....Blackfire so far with Jescar right there....need sun....I thought the clear bra was pretty dadgum slick, but any of these products make the clear just wildly slick and bright..... Gearheads would be last on the testing....:) Wash

Lots of reading here. Couple things - the 'Black Chrome' as mentioned is not real chrome. Don't use a chrome polish, use the same polish you would use on your paint. On my customer's cars I use Jescar Powerlock for a wax/sealant. Easy to apply and remove, doesn't stain trim, great protection and leaves a great shine and really slick surface. If you want to go crazy, top it with Collinite 845 for even more protection and you won't need to reseal/wax for 6 months.

For premium service and on my cars I use Garry Dean coatings and maintain with his spray boost's (signiture series and ceramicrylix line). There are a couple of versions, all work great. Not the cheapest and probably hard to get outside of the USA, but it is really good stuff.

I just did my first wax, post delivery (where my broker had a detailer make her pretty). Used Meguiar's Black Wax. Very happy with the job. Although the applicator soaks up a lot of the product. Perhaps I was using too much. About 1/3 of the tube for the whole car.

That hands down best is TEC582. Ceramic spray. Beats the bead maker in every way and costs less than 40 cents an ounce.
