Wheel/size/offset and tire/size/profile...can be confusing.

The main takeaway is whether you like a stretched-tire look versus a more squared look.

To clarify, when I say stretched, I mean that the tread is too narrow for the width of the rim, and as a result, the sidewalls must bend inwards from the rim to meet the narrower tread.

Squared is when the sidewall goes straight-up from the rim to meet the tread.

I prefer a squared look, but unfortunately I think my current sizes are too stretched:

do you really think that 10mm more width front and rear than you are running will make that much difference in the look? Ima sure I couldn't tell one from the other without knowing beforehand.

A fair question, but yes, most definitely!

I've been putting wheels/tires on all my cars my entire life, so I do have a really good feel for what I like which has been honed over the years thru trial/error, and definitely notice certain things right away when I look at any wheel/tire combo.

But of course, all of that is only my opinion, and others may not see it that way which is perfectly okay.

For example, some may prefer the stretched versus squared look, and is 100% the right look for them.

I think one can really notice the 10mm difference between the 245/35 fronts on my car versus the 255/35's leaning against the garage. I think those 255's are perfect for that rim width - IMO of course.

They would look better than this below, check their sizes in my sig. They are a perfect match front/rear too, but the next smaller matching-size for AWD:

Are these @Jetspike wheels? That was a great deal. Definitely one of the best wheel setups I’ve seen on these cars.

Yes they are, and he was great to deal with - thank you Mr Jet! :)

I'm a big fan of mesh-style wheels, and I get compliments on them all the time - they match the Panthera Metal very well IMO.

Have a staggered set of 295/255 on the way.

Thanks again all, happy I could go a little larger.

Finding 295/30/19 was a real pain.

Yeah no 295/30/19's for all-season, so you must've gone with summers - what exactly did you get?

Yes, I run dedicated summers/winters, you have to in a climate like ours. Still a good chance of snow for a few weeks, so I will wait until early to mid May to swap.

I went with FK510’s. $1600 CAD vs $2700 CAD for Pilot’s. Would have loved the option of Invo’s (had on my C63 and really enjoyed), but they don’t make 295’s.

FYI, try not to drive on your summer tires when it’s below 7c outside or you might end up damaging the tires. Ask me how I know.
That’s why I went to All seasons + winters so I can still run all seasons in the fall when it’s cold but not snowing. (Canada)

how far below 44.6F was it? there is no way that above freezing will damage your tires unless maybe you are burning out / drifting them. I've run on michelin summer tires down to 20F and suffered no damage. that's because below 40F the compound is not for monkeying around. you drive sedately without engaging boost and you'll be fine. also, you won't lose traction. and of course, it goes without saying, do not drive on them on icy roads. but freezing and dry is fine if you drive like I described. finally, don't make a habit of it. a/s or winters are the only sensible tires during sustained freezing and marginal road conditions.

I live in Wisconsin, and went with all-seasons since it'll stay cold for a long time.

To tell you the truth, I don't miss the hp-summers as my Conti DWS's are more than good enough for summer GT driving.

we actually get very hot summers in Calgary combined with very cold and random winters with massive snowfalls.

All seasons don’t really do well at anything around here, so most people do dedicated summer/winter.

I have a question for the people. I recently picked up some wheels and tires off marketplace, they are 20x8.5 fronts and 20x9.5 rears. The tires are 255/35R20 Falken Azenis fk510 all around. Got them for for $800 CAD so it was a pretty solid price as the wheels alone would have been about $1300.

I know these tires are way off spec, and when I installed them on my car, while they look great. The car rides like garbage. Vibration at higher speeds, any sort of deformities in the road and the car can wobble around, its also pulling randomly side to side at random times or it just won't want to turn as easily.

I can't tell if this is the tires doing this, or it's because the size is off spec and is messing with the ride. I am debating getting new tires all around and was wondering what would be best for the wheels I have? I was debating 245/30R20 on the front and 265/30R20 in the back. I would like a sidewall of 35 but from the calculator I've used, that doesn't seem like it will work with 20s.

20+10.5 45 285/30R20
20+9 32 245/35R20

Hey all I'm trying to do a lightweight setup for my 2023 gt2 awd ( these damn all seasons are miserable and the stock wheels are boat anchors). Tire Rack is great but I think a little conservative on rear wheel width possibilities.

My front wheel should fit. 18x8.5 et30 with a 235/45/18. Would an 18x9 et35 fit?

The rear wheels come in 18x9.5 et38 or et45. Or a 18x10 et38 I would run a 265/40/18.

Do any of these fit? Any insight into which rear wheel would be best? I don't want poke.

The car will have at least a rear sway bar but will never be lowered as it's my daily driver.

Thank you!

Meant to post these here when they just got here but then forgot, a few things in the way of me throwing these on but... soon :)

TE37 Saga S-Plus in Bronze Almite finish

Specs will be:
Fronts: 18 x 9.5 +22 (Face-4), 255/40/18
Fronts: 18 x 9.5 +38 (Face-3), 255/40/18

Going to stick with the squared setup until I order a new pair of 18 x 10 +35's (Face-4) for the rear to retain OEM stagger spec and match the concave, hope to post with the wheels mounted once the car has coilovers installed, soon!

Did you use the online tire/rim calculator? I don’t think the fronts will fit - not even close.

The fronts will, with a bit of fender pulling and some camber it'll be fine. People have ran similar specs fine as well. Car will have coilovers with camber plates. Front fitment will be very similar to @calcifergt2 on instagram, who's running 19x9 +18 BBS LM on 245/35.

I think that’s the definition of not fitting.

There's the difference of thought and actual application, too much weak specs/choices on this platform unfortunately. When there's a will, there is a way and aggressive specs aren't for everyone :). What you think is the definition of "not fitting" isn't going to be the same for others, and you clearly have never fit anything aggressive on any of your cars, without even saying it. You can find plenty of stingers running near similar offset/spec (or even the same offset) with a basic google search.
Heck, here's the link to 19x9.5 +22 offset on 255's right here on this forum:
