Got a small sub installed in the back of my 9 (now 10) speaker GT. Nothing major, just a cheapo 250w shallow 10 in a small ported box. The base GT has very minimal oomph in the low range (Mids and highs are fine), and it wouldn't even shake my rear view. I'm not looking to deafen myself like I did as a teen, but I couldn't stand that the Stinger couldn't come close to matching the 12 speaker Sony system in my Fusion!
Installer mounted it to the back of one of the seats, and I'm happy with that. Leaves more cargo room, and I don't have to worry about it falling over. Will look to have them add a toggle switch for it, so that I can turn it off if I need to pack the trunk. Don't want the sub hitting against any sharp corners! I'll add pics when I go out to my car later. I think it looks great, but have small concerns about the longevity of a
seat mount.
It still sounds a bit rough during some songs that aren't supposed to have bass, but Rock and Rap are fine. Maybe layer I'll go for an amp with a remote, but that's not a priority right now.
Side note: The installer noticed the under-
seat 8's, and said they're in there doing something, but it's hardly noticeable. Very interesting. One of the other GT owners said they have actual subs under the
seat too (Not just blank covers), even though the spec doesn't list them.
