What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

3yr ceramic coating added serious d e p t h. Panthera was never my first choice, but man does it look great now. KDM tails and wheels up next.
It really makes a huge difference for sure. The previous owner had it done and we take it in to have it clay barred and reapplied

under warranty each year as it transferred to us after the sale.

I wish my car wasn't a daily driver and that I didn't work in a dust bowl :(

Would love my car to look that good but there's probably no point in paying that much to get it done then Monday morning it's covered in dust/mud.

It's funny cuz my coworkers think my car is always clean and looks nice compared to theirs but they are regular folks, not car people. Obviously compared to the average car guy/gal, my car looks like poop imo.

Ceramic coating has the benefit of shedding water and interfering with dirt adhesion, keeping your car cleaner longer and making a quick rinse a rather effective cleaning.

Just sayin’…

So it's worth it even if my car is outside in a dusty, sandy, wet, cold, snowy/icy, muddy (at times) environment everyday at work?

Agreed here. Mine's also a DD in Michigan. The coating has already made it stay cleaner longer after a wash, not to mention making washing it way easier. It has become even more of a pollen magnet, however.

I can’t speak to the value proposition. Only you know what the benefits of ceramic coatings may be worth to you. But I have been able to blow brake dust off my wheels with a leaf blower following a post-car-wash drive to a car show (back when I ran track pads).

For what it’s worth, so it’s not just my opinion/experience:

AI Overview

Yes, ceramic coatings are designed to help shed mud and dirt. This is due to their hydrophobic nature, which means they repel water and other liquids, including mud. The water and dirt tend to bead up and roll off the surface, making it easier to clean.

Here's a more detailed explanation:
  • Hydrophobic Properties:
Ceramic coatings create a highly hydrophobic layer on the surface, meaning they repel water and other liquids.

  • Mud and Dirt Shedding:
This hydrophobic layer causes water and mud to bead up and roll off more easily, preventing them from sticking to the surface.

  • Easier Cleaning:
Because mud and dirt don't adhere as strongly, they are easier to remove during washing.

  • Regular Maintenance:
While ceramic coatings make cleaning easier, regular washing with a pH-neutral car wash soap is still recommended to remove contaminants and maintain the coating's protective properties.

  • Long-Term Protection:
Ceramic coatings provide long-term protection against the elements, including dirt, mud, and bug residue

Interesting ...........

Meguiars deep crystal car wash is what I use as they recommended it the last time they did the ceramic coat

I have to wait a month before I can wash it...

just use the spray-on ceramic or graphene wax. pretty easy to apply - you may need to apply it like a regular wax the first time, but after that just spray it on a wet car after washing and rinse off.

will still have the hydrophobic water shedding, and make drying car with a leaf blower super easy. you may need to apply it once or twice a year vs. expensive pro ceramic coatings, but its so cheap and easy, its not a big deal.

The inevitable object in the tire. This is the LR Bridgestone, OE, scheduled for retirement at the end of this year - first of next year - anyway at six years old. So, it looks like all four will get replaced early. Because that tire can't be viable after being driven FLAT out of our driveway this morning on the way to my wife's choir practice. See the parallel rubber marks in the driveway. Those were made by the rim rolling on the sidewalls two miles or more to church. She saw "low pressure" warning as soon as she backed out but figured, hey, low isn't flat, I'll risk it. Bad girl! She felt bad. After church THEN she noticed the flat crossing the gutter out of the parking lot and pulled over immediately - right in front of a fire hydrant. Ha hah. A neighbor guy helped me change to the donut. No tire shop is going to be open on Memorial Day, or I am much mistaken, so, I will have to wait until Tuesday. From the look of that object we have been driving on this one for a while, the head is worn down a lot. My wife promised to never drive away on a low pressure warning again. Good girl.

Yes, the flat tire was truly trashed. And the set being c. six years old I replaced them all, at Big O. My wife's car now has Nitto Motivo 365 UHP A/S. While testing the tires, I WOT onto the Mountain View Corridor and the CEL came on. Crap. Went to our family mechanic and his OBD said something like "fuel rail". This is the dreaded 2.0L fuel pump TSB. I have an appointment to check this out on the 9th of June. Couldn't get it in sooner. We will drive her car sedately, and as infrequently as practical, until the CEL is rectified.

My tentative plan to switch the lighter TSW staggered wheels on the 3.3L to her car is not happening.

Looks awesome! How's the dual bronze color? Pics I've seen from Stance look way more gold tinged, are your pics pretty accurate colorwise? I feel like a true bronze wheel is a little too much for my Panthera Stinger, but in your pics it looks like it would be perfect.

Also, what's your exhaust tip setup? Those come with the Xforce or are they a separate piece?
Sorry it's been a minute since I've been online, life does what life does. lol

The color is very unique IMO. It's not quite a full bronze and not quite a gold. It kind of strikes a nice balance in between that is very pleasing. My photo's are actually pretty damn color accurate.

No tips included on XForce. I ordered these off amazon for cheap and would do it again. They fit through the rear bumper a little snug but definitely worth it IMO.

Full Paint Correction to eliminate all KIA's orange peel/ Ceramic Coating of Body/Wheels/Glass and Full Leather and Interior trim protection with 3yr warranty!
Very Nice!!
I don't usually like black on Stingers, but man the ceramic plus the CF bits (instead of the chrome) really make a difference!
Those windows are just begging to be tinted though.

In the dust-bowl where I live, black would be dirty again in the 45 seconds it would take to drive it back into the garage after washing it.
