What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

I'm here at Jerry Seiner, South Jordan, getting this done: the plug (aaagain) and this time the boot/coil. The first pic is from January 19th, when I was in here getting cylinder six's plug changed (it was only c. four months/4K miles old, after getting all plugs changed at c. 45K miles - recommended - or I never would have put myself through this: I broke the mantra of, "If it ain't broke, don't mess with it", on their recommendation, I repeat, but HEH!). This time I should be good to keep going, we'll see, of course.

The other things I am having done: my windshield washers are getting cleaned out: they got a bit plugged (from my not using them often enough, most likely). And then I have to go out and drive for c. half an hour and return for the emissions and fees: the engine has to reset before they can do the emissions, so, I'll just tootle around on the freeway and some city streets for that long, and then come back and finish up.

At one o'clock this afternoon, I go over to Wheel Werks to get new Michelin PS4S tires on the front (and swap the winter tires and OEM wheels for the summers and TSW wheels): so, a busy day for me and the Stinger. :D

Technically it was over christmas but I installed the megan racing catback exhaust and some carbon fiber exhaust tips. Sounds fantastic!
Just pm you bro. Had some questions I wanted to ask personally if you don’t mind

It is finished. Ironically, my longest wait was for the payment office gal (helped by the service advisor), trying to get their registration of my car to go through with the state: I didn't ask what the fubar was, but, it was the state, so, go figure. I was probably waiting close on twenty minutes. :P

My car works perfectly again. Yay. (until the next time, may it be a long time coming, heh)

The biggest time sink about the whole thing was my having to go out and "drive around", trying to get the last two (of six or eight) "indicators" to come back online so that the emissions could be done: when you disconnect the battery or similar shutdown of the ECU to do work on the car, the entire system has to reconnect/calibrate? with the ECU and modules (of which there are 30 in the Stinger: how many of you knew that?). So, I drove to the airport and back - was told that that distance usually works, i.e., is long enough. Nope. So, I did an I-15, Bungler, 104th South loop: still no go. Back out and I extended the loop to 90th South: third time checking with the gizmo reader (it connects under the dash) still denied me : 87 miles of driving was not enough!? I went home to eat and then took my summer wheels and tires to Wheel Werks and had my new front Michelins put on and my winter setup stuffed in the hatch: back to Jerry Seiner, and voila! this time the indicators were all back (so, somewhere between 88 and 118 miles was enough) and I got my emissions and registration completed (with that little hitch/delay in our gitalong that I described already). During all of this driving around I managed six launches, and found my car's power fully restored.

Oh, and my windshield washers were plugged up (only putting out c. half volume and only reaching the lower half of the windshield). I need to use them more often to keep that from happening.

Here's the piece of news that is of general interest: since the start of 2022 (including my last oil change in January), Kia has been putting synthetic in. I've bumped my oil changes from every 4K miles to every 6K miles accordingly.

I was finally able to find time to finish up the chrome delete with cf setup took a while waiting for many parts but happy with the look I think I'm done and broke, thinking about some bags next any feedback from who has them?

Again, not my Stinger but for a Stinger! I just received the custom hood prop I designed for a fellow Stinger owner. It came out phenomenally!
Cannot wait to deliver it, and see it put to good use in the upcoming shows and events this year! :)

I've only had my GT2 for a little over a week. When I came out of the grocery store tonight I walked around the back of my stinger and leaned over to hit the button on the door handle and discovered the hands free auto hatch opening feature of the GT2 - I thought for a split second that either my car was reading my mind somehow or my key fob was pressing down on something in my jacket pocket. I did a quick google search and found the YouTube video describing how this feature works. Damn I love this car!! High-five to the Koreans for installing a feature that doesn't require some sort of weird kick or sweep under the rear bumper like on my wife's VW Atlas. Just stand there for 3 seconds with the car locked, the lights flash 3x and the car chimes 3x and you're good.

A friend's Audi refuses to obey the foot-kick command 9 times out of 10. KIA's solution is simpler, cheaper (no sensor under bumper) and actually works!

Yes, their solution seems better than those that require some kind of gesture.
Interesting fact, I have the accessorides remote start with takeover. If I remote start the car, then when I stand behind it with the fob, it beeps three time like it is going to open, but then beeps once more and stays closed.
It works normally if I don’t remote start it.

^^ Damn, looks like the fastest color couldn’t make it, everyone knows the Ascot greens are the fastest Stingers!

;)

Hey, how do you like the Seibon hood, I see no hood pins either- does it seem stable at speed. Was the install fairly easy and straightforward? Did you change the struts out, or using a prop rod?

I've had it on for about a year and using low pressure shocks.. not going to lie there are times the hood gets shakey when winds are 20+ mph and driving about 80.. it hasnt flown up on me and speeds get up there especially living in the country .. but overall it feels safe and install took maybe 5 min, hardest part was squeezing the factory rubber stoppers on it

Installed my drop in Aem dry panels. Snorkels are coming next week. Is the heat shield material worth it(i think that’s what it is called) to wrap around the intake box or just leave as is ? Thanks
