What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

I'm sure a detailer could get it out. But a detailer won't be able to reapply the clear he has to remove to get to the stain.

If the dealership won't make it right I would contact an attorney and find out what protections the law might provide. Only after that failed would I consider paying out of my pocket to fix it.

In the meantime I would flood their online presence with negative reviews and have every person I know do the same. Maybe a bunch of 1 star reviews on Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc will get their attention.

Have just left a scathing review on their page.

Just got a call from the service guy from Kia. He first apologised for taking 6 days to contact me, where I told him that wasn't good enough to begin with. He then said the stain was NOT their responsibility. He said the mechanics thought it was caused by them and tried to wipe it off, but it didn't come off, and that if it was mechanical fluid it would have come off straight away. I then told him that I think they DID spill fluid and that it absorbed into the paintwork where I did not see it until two days later. I again brought up the photos, which THEY originally used to support their argument. I asked them to check the photos and there is NO stain in the photo, so I reiterate the fact that it very well could have set over the course of the day after they serviced my car after spilling fluid.

He refused to take responsibility. I told him I am taking it further. I am so pissed off to have to go through all this crap over and over again with different people to make them fix their problem!

Stick to your guns, they are digging themselves a hole based on what you state, you also need to take it higher in the dealership & get their comments in writing.

Now make sure you reward them (even though they were a holes) by praising them on the same page you throttled them.

They need to understand the power or social media and also understand the value of someone having a positive experience too.

This might make them behave more appropriate next time.

And well done everyone else on here too - thank you all VERY much. You showed support and gave me suggestions, which when carried out, lead to this positive result. What a shame though that one would need to go through this crap in order to get a fair result.

Absolutely. I will definitely be doing that from now on. Though....remember that the mechanical fluid wont show up straight away on the paintwork if spilled so even taking an after photo/video may not necessarily show the problem.

Done - though I didn't really praise them, I did go back and update my review to acknowledge that they are now going to pay for repairs.

True... but I’d also look it over / detail with some spray when I got home which would help to identify any issues.

So glad you got everything resolved. As stated above ... anytime I service my Stinger, I take multiple pics from every angle ... inside and out, including the place where it is serviced (date stamped). Only takes minutes. The key is to take the pics while the service manager is with you, then, and maybe then, they will know not to f#*k with you.

A good result but you shouldn't have had to go through all that stress, time and BS.

Diy intake. 20 minutes and kept the lower part of the intake box which eliminated the need for a bracket (thanks BMS for the idea).

Glad they are picking up the tab. Persistence really does pay off. I can imagine it would have been difficult to prove your case in court not to mention the legal fees involved. Now, time to search for a new dealership for future maintenance.

The title to this thread is appropriately named: What did you DO TO YOUR STINGER. Not, what did you do with it or for it, what did you DO to it.

This afternoon, I rashed my LF rim AAAGAIN. How was that even possible? I haven't gotten curb rash in eight months. Here is how it happened (there is always a reason): I was looking in a crowded parking lot for an end stall and finally found one. The car parked next to it was closer than I like, and I was moving to establish as much space between us as possible, and paying more attention to that spacing than to how close I was getting as I turned in. *scrrraaatccchhh* One of the most horrible sounds in the universe. Oh! but I said words (my wife forgave me for assaulting her ears; she felt so bad for me).

I abandoned the shopping excursion at once and drove home swiftly so that I could sand the damned damage down. It was cold out. I lacked patience (done this too many times already!). As far as I know, the damage could have been over already smoothed out previous damage. Heh!

Anyway, you can see the difference that c. fifteen minutes made: it passes the "six foot away" rule. ​
