Used Stinger GT Market Info

I went to cargurus to check prices, out of curiosity. But noticed strange thing. Nationwide, there're 845 rwd and 98 awd stingers for sale right now. Always thought they are roughly 1/1 ratio. And this is like 9/1.
I live in MN, I never saw a new rwd car here for sale when I was looking to buy a Stinger. The only rwd cars I saw were on Carvanna and they weren't from MN.

It's not the case anymore. Check your local listings. Most of them will be rwd. But in your state, I am guessing, that ratio won't be as high as 9/1.

In the snow states they insist on shoving the awd garbage down our throats. Want rwd, either get one out of state or order (if that's even possible). Had to do that with the g37. Iirc, closest stocking dealer at the time was TN or KY.

IMO rwd with proper snow tires is fully driveable in the winter unless you're way up north or get feet of snow with each event.

Don't think I'd wanna have a rwd Stinger when I look outside and see this.

This was on April 1st 2023. I feel like I don't know if I woulda made it if I didn't have snow tires, let alone not having awd. I daily my car, so I'd definitely take awd over rwd. If I was South or a state with no snow, then my opinion would be different.

^^I remember driving my 4th gen camaro after such a snow, ofc it had snow tires and ~300lb of sand in the back.

My first car was a Formula 350, which I drove in the winter. It definitely can be done but would I want to, nah. I'll take the awd and snow tires.

Time for another update. Depreciation has been continuing pretty normally in the last two months.

I'm starting to see 2018 GT1's and GT2's below $25k with normal miles on them. That's a lot of car for the money. It'll be interesting to see how much more they drop. They're quite a bit cheaper than Charger SRT 392's and S5's of the same year as it is.

August's update. Prices leveled off after many months of consistent depreciation, so it will be interesting to see if the rate of depreciation is coming down.

Lately I've been seeing very few 2018 GT's and GT1's listed. As we know, these were produced in much lower numbers than GT2's. The low supply has led to less consistent prices compared to GT2's. Soon I'll likely need to track the average price of GT2's only as there just aren't enough GT's and GT1's for sale.

As the Stinger ages, we'll see fewer of the lower volume trims & editions (and Stingers in general) as they get lost to accidents. For newer models, fewer will change hands once there are no longer any leases due to expire.

Where is this? I have yet to see any Stingers that low in my area unless it's a 2018 premium model.

All Stingers in my area are awd though, maybe that's why?

https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inven...2510&zip=44139#listing=389752450/NONE/DEFAULT this one for example. Or this. Looks to be AWD. There's something wrong with cargurus system, where they are showing rwd even when it's awd. Plus, it' an asking price. I am sure they'll knock $1-2k off without problem. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inven...2510&zip=44139#listing=391983878/NONE/DEFAULT. There're some in even $15k range. But they are probably after an accident or with salvage title. So I wouldn't count them.

Just a note - many yellow Stingers are manufacturer buybacks due to the paint problems they had necessitating a respray. Not necessarily a big issue for future owners, but it does impact the value due to the buyback history. I've left them out of my numbers for that reason.

126k is a lot of miles on the other one, but it's a one-owner and looks to be in nice shape.

October's numbers. As mentioned previously, lower inventory is leading to more erratic prices.

I am going to sell my 2019 GTS rwd with 14,000 miles. I bought it brand new in January 2020. Anyone know which would be the best site to use for pricing and selling it. It has no aftermarket items on it and looks new still. I just saw a 2019 on Cargurus with 69,000 miles selling for $30,000. I have really enjoyed my Stinger but I am gonna order a Sebring Orange C8 Corvette in 2025. This forum has really been fun over the years. I always liked the Stingers in the Wild thread.

To price your car, I would take it to CarMax if you have one nearby and get a price, along with using KBB.com and Carvana to get quotes. You can use Cargurus to get an idea of listing prices, but it won't quite tell you what price they're actually selling for.

If it were me, I would list with Cars.com. If you're willing to put up with a lot of lowballers and scammers, you'll also get a lot of views by listing on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist.

Being a GTS in a less common color, you may be able to get a bit more for your car, but only if a determined buyer happens to find it. Just be prepared for it to take more time and to get a lot of low offers before then. You'll have your CarMax and/or Carvana quotes to fall back on if you're not able to make a sale.

December 2024 numbers. This will be my last update. 2018's in their 3 trim levels, which I've used to chart the price, have thinned out in numbers and there's not enough inventory to create accurate averages of each trim. They also vary greatly by mileage at this point.

CarGurus has a price index of their own. It doesn't break down by trim or by 4/6-cyl, but it still gives you a good idea of how Stinger prices have been trending.

Well, thanks for this ongoing tracking that you have provided. I have appreciated it.
