I have a Panthera Metal GT. This is coming from the left turbo waste gate. Sound is when I turn the car off. My dealership says this is normal. But obviously it’s not.

Kinda like a lil whistle then a slam. I would go to different dealer.

It was confirmed by the dealer and a friend who had to replace a turbo with the same sound.

It is the linkage in the waste gate near the actuator.

Now my dealership says it is normal...NOT!!

OOPS! Did they just say that?

Well this is a smoking gun if ever there was one. I'd run it straight to the top and contact Kia directly. Don't bother with that dealership any more. Let Kia deal with them.

I'm almost positive mine does this as well, just thought it was normal when shutting the car off but maybe im wrong.

Unbelieveable what you caught on camera, really its shit like that Kia needs to squash if they want to be taken seriously in the premium market.

That’s why I dread going in for anything. Car is great but the service sucks!! Come on a Hyundai Accent for a loaner car?

At least when I owned a Bmw the service was top notch and catered to you.

I emailed GM of the dealership with the evidence and no reply. So I sent Kia corporate the footage.

Luckily my dash cam hooked me up.

Good on you sending that in, that would completely ruin my relationship with that dealer and possbily even the brand. How could you possibly trust the dealer after that. Im sure your local newstation would love to get their paws on that. Keep us updated on what their response is.

That’s what I want to do next go to local news media. After I blast them on social media.

Here's the thing - if it's a defect, it'll be covered under warranty, and the dealer will be PAID to perform the work..

So they're basically saying they don't want work.

Ok the GM sent the footage to Corporate and they terminated the guy in the video who was the Service Manager.

I have a meeting Friday with the GM to discuss what will be done.

Aww, I missed the video. What was it?

They were looking at the Waste-Gate issue and they would have to replace the turbo or the waste gate.

The Service Manager told the Mechanic he was going to LIE to me saying they tested it with 2 separate units in stock and it sounded the same and that the sound is normal.

Looking forward to the resolution of this.

Also if you are able, and should they oblige to perform the work required, document the process of the replacement, photos and or video.

What would be the value in that exactly?

Oh they will fix it and then some. Good one. I def will tell them to do that. It’s always good to have proof and documentation. Especially after all that’s happened.

Ya the GM asked kindly to take the video off of YouTube. I did for now.

Are you taking it back to the same dealership?
