Spark Plugs

Just a wobbly head socket to get under manifold with front and back coils removed right?
The first time I took the manifold off it took me 2 hours to change plugs. I needed to regap the plugs a 2nd time and I heard about the wobbly method and unfortunately my set would not fit. I wasn't about to buy new ones so I took the manifold off again. The second time was MUCH easier. It only took maybe 45min-1hour.

So what is best and safest way to do this. Take manifold off or work around it with wobble sockets. Just need some feed back please.

Take upper manifold off.

Basically. I used two flex joints in my socket string, just like the picture he posted. On the middle coil, you will need to take it apart to remove it. Just don't let the spring fly! :) Also, a magnetic 10mm socket head is quite useful in removing the coils. Keeps the screw from falling into the engine bay no-mans-land.
Freaked me out when the coil pack came apart initially  I had never seen that mentioned.

A magnetic plug socket would be best. Mine had rubber that gripped the plug too tightly, which is okay for removal but you need to get the socket back off the plug once installed. If it is 10# tougher than the force taken to remove the extension from the socket then you've got issues. I ended up using a standard deep well socket for re-installation but I don't recommend that. Get a magnetic plug socket!

Note: You may have to feed the socket, then the extension, then attach the universal on some of the cylinders. Then reverse for removal.

I haven't looked in to 2L plugs no, for now customers are just using the HKS ones gapped to 0.022"

How does one know if one of the spark plugs may be bad? I dont seem to be having any issues when driving. But when I start my car in the morning and its warming up. Its been making popping sounds and shaking heavily. Once its warmed up and driving though. No issues.

When a plug fails the car will throw misfire faults in that cylinder, run rough until faults are cleared, etc.

Has anyone else has experience with the KIA not covering replacement? The dealership is saying they want to replace all the plugs and the coil overs, but do not want to cover them due to me installing the aftermarket plugs. Should I fight it?

Why do they want to replace plugs and coils in the first place. Did you have a bad coil . What’s story

Spark plugs are a wear and tear maintenance item. I've never seen them covered under warranty unless the factory installed plug was faulty. You have no ground to stand on here, imo.

I guess what I’m saying is they want to charge me $1000 to replace them all. Does that sound right?

Omg!! That seems high. Coil packs are $281.95 a set and ready to change. Plugs are led then $100.00

You can buy a set of plugs for 100 bucks pay a shop few hundred to change. Kia trying to make some money on ya.

They are claiming that they are all burned up. I got one P0304 code, and brought it in just to be safe.

I would assume if they were all blown, I would be having more issues?
