Snow White Pearl Discussion

I invested in full ceramic inside and out. Everything just about hoses off and if not very little effort to wipe off. Glass like finish feels smooth as butter.

If you have decent protection - wax or ceramic - they should wash away before decomposing.

For those who've used products like ironx - have you seen any issues on trim, like streaks or spots? Any particular cautions?

The dirt and contaminant repellency is exactly what I wanted to hear, thanks for attesting to that. I had ceramic coating on my Mustang with 4 pot brakes and never noted rust on the surface, so it might have helped. I definitely need SOMETHING on the Stinger. It was too cold to apply the ceramic after I took delivery of the Stinger.

I read that another brand of iron remover damaged that person's PPF, but not with CarPro. And on CarPro's site,

Features:

  • Removes Iron Particles and prevents the spread of iron-related damage & helps to protect your vehicle from paint system failure.
  • Safe to use, Acid Free, and pH neutral (pH 6-7).
  • Safe to use on Clear Coat Paint
  • Safe to use on Aluminum, Chrome, Alloy, or Clear coated wheels.
  • Safe for use on all solid car surfaces and will not deteriorate clear coats.

I've also read about streaks but every person will have different experiences with the same product....some users never had it, others have. Maybe the key is to leave it on the car for no more than 5 min.

I have PPF (which was expensive to do), and wanted to do Ceramic which is also costly. But I like the DIY approach that's a lot cheaper and seems to be just as effective.

I've used CarPro Iron-X on at least 6 occasions, I've never had issues with streaks or damage to anything. Keep in mind the Iron-X was applied prior to full detailing, so maybe that's why I didn't have streaks. If you're going to clean it that way, might as well go all the way.

Love the Snow White!

Black vinyl roof wrap
Rear side reflector tinted
Talights tinted
H&R Lowering Springs

Plus
Just put on the headlight amber delete.

Man that looks so sweet. Another idea added to my project!

Did you have your taillights spray tinted or wrapped?

It looks like the front lights were wrapped with black vinyl instead of tint. Am I right?

Thanks!

I do. Not sure where they come from or how they get stuck to the paint like that.
Probably its some sort of road grime mixed with grease or engine oil.

I had a white Lexus that I used to park behind my job to escape the parking lot madness. Unfortunately there was an active rail line about 15 feet away. I went out one day and noticed the car was covered in those specs. I did a bunch of research and realized rail dust was contamination was very common. The rust spots result from hot peices of metal landing on the clear coat and rusting as time goes on (sources of the metal are plentiful).

Iron X cleaned it all up. I did it at a car wash to make sure I was able to rinse it all away with no residual left behind.

I will say, I've never smelled a cleaning product so STANK in my life. My car actually STANK for a week after using it .

After using it I trashed the leftover Iron X because it made my garage smell terrible.

You should have gotten the lemon scented Iron X. Smells like a mix of 99% stank and 1% lemon. Much better.

Much like trying to mask poop smell with bathroom grade deodorizer, poop and roses is such a lovely combination.

Lots(most) of the time it’s particles from the brake pads or rotors burning into the clear coat. It rusts and turns orange. Iron-x May take care. Of it, if not it will require clay bar. Normally you see the rear of the car around the back bumper more affected, and performance cars are more affected. BMW vehicles design the rotors to wear with the brake pads so their cars really struggle with this. My wife’s X3 has had to be flayed twice in less than 10k miles, same for my last 335i. The harder you are on your brakes, the more prevalent the little specks.
Mustangs are delivered via rail cars and they show up to the dealership with rail dust all over them, often imbedded into the clear coat. I sprayed my 15gt with iron x and the hood turned purple all over, car had 7 miles on it.

Because white will always looks good. Ceramic and all the other flat colors are a fad that will pass in a few years.

Not that I will own a car that long. But just my opinion.

They actually tried to get me to buy a ceramic they had in stock but I waited for the white and am glad I did.

Fad or not, I still blame my wife for swaying me against Ghost Grey (that flat gray). I don't love it, but I find the color intriguing and wonder if I made a good choice when I see them driving my.

Orange, on the other hand...if it was only available when I got mine.

I would have been happy with Ghost Gray , its a very cool color , white is always a classic in my books though , its funny how some vehicle dont work in white though ......................

I wanted blue but also the red interior, not available. I wasn't buying until the 2019s anyway, so just waited. Then my (now ex) GF bought a white Mercedes in the summer, which had this awesome gold flake metallic. I had never given the white stingers a second glance, so I went to a dealer and checked one out and it was almost identical, so I was sold.
oh, I guess I never posted mine after I got it..... yep you guessed it. white.

lowered on Ark GT-F springs. wheel shopping now, and I'm thinking Black vs gunmetal in a 19x8.5 and 19x10 specifically Ace Alloy AFF05

Sorry I've taken so long to respond. I've been so busy with work and family and other Stinger business I've let my forum visits slide to compensate. Anyway I've got 15% ceramic tint on all windows except the windshield and sunroof. The sunroof is 50% as is the windshield. But I've gotten the eyebrow at 5 % to make the windshield appear clear....ish.
Also hear is a few shots of my Strictlybusinessmotorsports.com Carbon Fiber Hatch and front lip spoiler. Along with the Seibon CF one piece spoiler/decklid. I had the taillights and the front and rear side reflectors tinted 3 shades darker than OEM. Also I have the sequential led turns to install on my SBM CF rear diffuser and my SBM CF hood needing, no begging to be installed. But I daily drive my car and have only had like 1 or 2 days off during the work week and I don't do electric work. So I have to get stuff done when I can .hopefully before February.

what front lip is that??
