Sounds like a gps sensor issue, I think its in the sharkfin. Is anything like ice on it.
I have read about someone who experienced those phantom screen presses, and they were remedied by the software updateSo, I've got a 2019 GT II. <50K Mi. Concern with GPS/NAV. I plug in a destination and the map is displayed. I start driving and then suddenly the cursor has darts off towards infinity in search of the end of the universe. Would a simple update to the NAV fix this? If so, is it easy to do myself or go through the dealer?
I think it's more of a screen issue. It acts as if something is touching the screen.Sounds like a gps sensor issue, I think its in the sharkfin. Is anything like ice on it.
Would rather it be quality than get it before it’s ready.Talked to the map guys today, no update until June this year. April's release got pushed back in QA.
Well, I took my 2019 GT2 to the dealer for the “ghost tap” issue. They looked into it and thought it was the result of a previously stored destination. They deleted it. This did not help the issue. I will consider cleaning the screen really well and consider the effect of temperature differences.
On a similar note, I’d like to inquire if anybody has had issues with their Apple car navigation. When I plug my phone in with a cable, the navigation starts out fine and then while I’m driving, it zooms in on the road so that the only thing I’m seeing is the road beneath me and none of the surrounding area. It’s like the camera is directly on my bumper and is focused on the gray pavement and lane lines beneath the car.
dealership tried to tell me that is the result of having a non-apple cord connecting the phone to the car. Thoughts.???
I’ll update everybody in a few weeks.
Well let’s hope so! Thanks. I’ll keep you updated. My thoughts, it's just more ghost taps, causing apple maps to zoom in.
I think you have one problem, ghost taps
My 5 year free trial just expired..... But I'm too cheap to pay their overpriced monthly fee.The reason I talked to the map guys was because I let my UVO sub lapse (Canadian). I renewed it, but now when I push the button on the mirror it says I need to complete my subscription at myuvo.ca which I've done a million times. Navigating keeps popping up a window saying my subscription was updated. I called UVO and they resent subscription but it didn't help. Pin hole reset didn't help. They transferred me to the map guys but they dont help with subscription issues at all. They suggested I call uvo back and keep escalating. Before I do that, I'm gonna export my NAV destinations to USB and factory reset my HU to see if it helps.
Any other Canadians renew UVO after letting it lapse? Did/do you have this issue? I know its not common to hit the button on the mirror but my wife uses it.
I have had this exact problem. Apple Maps will zoom in super close so you can't see anything else. I think switching to the 3D view helps some, but now I'm more annoyed by something in the music (or a ghost) triggering Siri to listen for a command that I didn't start. And it will randomly disconnect.Well, I took my 2019 GT2 to the dealer for the “ghost tap” issue. They looked into it and thought it was the result of a previously stored destination. Oh, it did make Android Auto work WAY better, so that was a big win for me.The weirdest thing, in my opinion is the colors of the touchscreen are all blue/purple, but the instrument cluster is still white/red. So they look like they're made for different cars.
