Would love it if the update fixes the generic car graphic they did in the different drive modes.

It will not, unfortunately.

Mine did an over the air update. One thing I don't like is the change to the weather app. Before the update I had the map open and in the smaller section the weather which showed the current weather, weather in 3hrs and weather in 6hrs.

Now it only shows the current weather. To see the 3 and 6 hour forecast you now have actually go into the weather app. No idea why they do crap like that! And my nav also updated as well but that seems the same.

new update is up. doesn't look like any new features. just bug fixes

Beat me to it. I checked last night, no updates. They must of rolled it out this morning. I will wait a month or 2 then update around end of year if no further updates. Still on a '22 update here I think.

i'll probably update this week at some point...

@StingerVetteMan OTA update... how? Is this something new they added to '23 cars?

I got in my car the other day and a message popped up saying it will be installing an update. Later that day got another message stating the update was completed.

Note I also have Kia Connect which I believe includes OTA updates.

Interesting. Is the update then coming through the phone to the car? Or the car's modem? I suppose if it was coming through the phone, you'd see large data usage on the account.

at one point, i believe the nav units that have telematics cell modem (kia connect) got an update that allowed ota either 1 or 2 updates ago..

I know the 2022+ MY have a modem built in, not sure about prior years. I never sub'd to kia connect (not even the trial), nor do I plan to. When I hear the term "telematics", internally brain hears "spyware".

I bit the bullet on this one. Noticed 3 things.

Changing climate control has a colour bar beside the temperature
The camera system shows the current time in the top right
Navigating in Android auto doesn't disable navigating in the stock unit, which makes the HUD slightly more useful

That would be a amazing, I need to try that next drive.

Help me understand, why would one be navigating in both?

I see... See, issues I never knew existed..... by NOT having HUD :).

Yeah the HUD shows a nice orange arrow and distance for your next turn. It's never worked with Android auto navigation, only stock. This is still the case. But before, you couldn't navigate in both at once. When you started NAV in one system, it would immediately stop in the other. Using both at once is only useful for getting HUD notifications from the stock nav even though Waze is better, but lets be honest, 99% of the time it's the same directions.

I just tested using Android Auto navigation through google maps and the car's built in navigation at the same time, and unfortunately found that using one would still disable the other.

@Grump Did you do anything special to get it to work? And what mapping program did you use?
