Odd...I wonder if the new shipments just don't sit flush...I had some play but got both OE bolts in with no problem.it was hard to get a clear pic, but there was like a 1/4" gap so the original bolt wasn't long enough to grab.

Are you mounting the rest of the box tight before attempting that bolt?
So I tried that, but then I couldn't get the other bolts to line up and thread. Buddy that was helping me offered to give it a try so I went to the passenger side and he figured out that the front bolt was causing the misalignment. So socked down the other two at the bottom of the intake housing.I installed that bolt first before the others . No problems. Installed bolt loose then put in the others before tightening.
I wonder if different model years are sligjtly different layout which is causing the issue. But not enough of an issue to prevent an easy workaround. So I tried that, but then I couldn't get the other bolts to line up and thread. id like to have that woosh sound, as long it doesnt mess anything up with the car. how much does it cost to get that woosh and whats the best brand; i like those ones that look like red horns, the metal pipe looking ones. i know the point of modding with performance parts is to get it tuned afterwards to make the mods work, but i dont want to go too far. can you get cold air intakes to make it woosh without having to get everything else?
SameYay!!! Just got an email with shipment info!!
Glad to hear. After all my research im choosing AFE. Closed box design is a huge plus for IATFinally finished installing mine not too long ago. The drivers side fit is definitely a tiny bit wonky compared to the passenger side but I was able to get all 3 of the stock screws in. Just followed the directions when it tells you to install the front one loosely at first. Only got it about 3 or 4 turns threaded then went for the rest. Had to pull and move the airbox around a bit but finally got it. Other than that, my only input is the passenger side clamps are kind of a pain because there's just not much room, but it's certainly doable.
Also after the first drive, I definitely notice more induction and blowoff sound, but probably would never notice over the radio. Turned it off and heard it pretty well. Also seemed a bit more punchy, but that could be just my happiness that I finally installed it.
