Never had a car that turned so many heads.

Yup. For me it was well worth the $500

As I came out of the alphabet store the other day I noticed a couple had just finished circling my girl. I started heading in that direction and they made a beeline for me. I wasn't even close to the car when they asked if it was mine, and then proceeded to walk me back to her while asking all the usual questions. I could tell they knew a little about it and when I said it was also a twin turbo, he said "Oh I know, my wife and I really like fast cars." and proceeded to give her a little slap on the ass. Pretty sure they were both turned on by the car.

Not sure about the rest of you all but I find these random encounters really help with the kia-rrhea that comes with the car.
At first I thought you meant he slapped your car on the ass after you called it "my girl" and I was like man Idk if I'd like some random person doing that to my car:rofl:.

The black really does look great, far better than the stock wheel color IMO.

Also, how could this thing not turn heads? The picture doesn't do it justice, I had just had it washed and waxed and that red was poppin!

Loving it in black myself. Ordered a new set of wheels but plan to powder coat these properly down the road. Where did you get your center caps?

Those look like the Kia branded winter wheel center caps. I have a set of those too but I found they didn't fit securely.

I wonder how he got them to fit
They fit but the pins aren't long enough so they don't lock securely. I'd worry about them popping out if you hit a pothole. They actually look pretty good. Maybe silicone on the pins would hold them.

They also overlap the socket while on the winter rims they fit in flush.

I got them on Amazon, sorry the listing is gone now. I have had no issues with them falling out, it's a bit of a tight fit but it works. I think @nhcowboy28 may also have them if I remember correctly and has had them for longer.

Powder-Coated wheels look fantastic! :D

Are there any downside to the process though? Makes the wheels weaker (more brittle) or adds weight to them?

Not at all. They strip off the existing black coating and then powder coat the entire wheel. The coverage is micro thin and is the same as what they do with stock wheels. It would not have any impact on the rims

It's so awesome to read all these stories. In the few weeks that we've owned our Stinger, i've had people come up and look, compliment, gawk, ask what I did for a living, and ask what kind of insurance I pay for my "Maserati" LOL. I never bought the car with the intention to show off but the Ceramic Silver w/ the Red Nappa interior sure get people to look twice. Really need to get some intakes so I can pop the hood for a bit of show and an exhaust so it makes those Cars and Coffee meets a whole lot of fun.

Had to run to get a couple of extra bits of cedar (because apparently I can't count lol) On the road on the way home stopping in the line of traffic, and I was just ahead by about half a car length, but along side of a couple of guys in a newer Acadia, (everyone has their windows down -beautiful day) and just as I come to a stop I heard the passenger say "Whoa, look at that car!" :D

Gotcha!

Thank you! :)

I know where that is. :D A friend of mine and I rode our bikes by there just yesterday.

Took a trip to Skyline Drive last week and had at least 5 conversations about the Stinger. All of them started out with, what is it. :) One gentleman, when I informed him it was a Kia, said that he thought it was a Ferrari. He started the conversation with, that is a gorgeous car. Another couple were in the process of taking a picture to show their son, so that he could identify it for them. All of them wanted to know what kind of engine it had in it.

I was at the local gas station filling up, when an older gent walked over and stood staring at my Stinger. He said, “That is one gorgeous car!, do you mind telling me what kind it is?” I told him it was a Kia Stinger. He told me that he thought it was some kind of European sport sedan. He said that he didn’t know Kia made any sporty cars. He also said he loved the black/red interior.

It really is an amazing car for turning heads! I cannot count the number of times I have been asked what was the car I was driving and who made it.

I got the HiChroma Red GT1 2 years ago and I recall taking it to go apple picking here in Upstate NY a couple of weeks after getting it. When I pulled into the parking lot (let's be real it was more a dirt/grass field) I had at least 5 sets of people walk by and wonder what sports car just pulled up. The one older gentleman, who had a BMW iSeries, stopped me to ask what my car was. I told him it was a Kia Stinger and explain that Kia had two engineers (one from Audi and one from BMW) assisted with designing the aesthetics of the vehicle. The guy could not believe it and spent like 10 minutes or so walking/staring at my car in awe that this car looked nearly as good as his did but was nowhere near the cost of it!

One of the many stories of turning heads of people not believing Kia made a performance vehicle or anything that wasn't a Telluride/Optima/Sorento lol

This was more of a drive-by acknowledgement; middle aged woman, distinguished looking (well kept) driving a Mercedes coupe......she was in the opposite direction lane and gave my stinger the once over with her eyes and then gave me a heartfelt "THUMBS UP " with a smile.

Another interesting interaction.......backed in at a local RACETRAC, I'm walking out and young fella giving #YINYANG the twice over ; seriously giving it "I'm impressed " vibe...

I step out of the store and ask him his thoughts.....he tells me he isn't sure about Stinger.....he's into American and JDM. I explain that this isn't meant compete with those, yes you can mod and track but this goes more inline with the Germans......fully functional sports sedan at a very nice price!
He then says he likes to tinker but my car is nice! I thanked him and went on my way......another head turning session 20200427_195929.webp
