Navigation Update V14 due out April 20, 2020

______________________________
I too was able to update on my 2018 GT2. I had the radio replaced a few months ago due to the fader issue so I had a little newer firmware, but the map was the original map. I picked up a 32gb card from walmart this morning and started downloading on my MAC. The download went reatively fast, but the upload to the card took forever since I only have a USB 2.0 card adapter. Once it uploaded, I loaded into the car without any issues. I had the car on a battery tender and only took maybe 20 mins. Looking forward to driving a bit to get to check out all the new features.

So with this being the first time I try an update I naturally have a question.

According to the disclaimer, since my car has an SD Card already I need to use an SD card, not USB. Do I just remove the cars SD card and download the update to overwrite it?

Just don't want to mess anything up.

Thanks in advance

You can use the existing card that came with the car but I prefer to use a new/different card. Should something go wrong you still have the working set of files.

I can confirm that if you downloaded and installed the update in late July, this one is the same version. I downloaded and when starting the install, I was prompted that it's the same version. I went ahead and ran the update anyway, and all version numbers are identical before and after.

So again, if you did the web update in July, no change with this download.

Thank you sir
Yeah - and avoid getting LARGER than 32 GB, otherwise it gets tricky to format it. Fat32 maxes out at 32 GB, so you have to mess with partitions if you get a larger one. I bought a Lexar 32 GB car for like $10.99 or $11.99 from Staples.. Actually, I bought a 64 GB first, when I went to return it, they said "keep it", and then bought a 32 GB, so I got 2 for $10.99 or something.. :-)

Is the map navigation site working for Australia?

All I get in the drop down country list is USA,canada, korea. Where is Australia?

What software version is the latest version?

I downloaded the new map update using the Kia utility found at update.kia.com and copied files to my new Microcenter 32GB SD (Thanks @David Truax ).

The install was very easy. Start car, take out old card, plug in new card, hit "update" on screen. Took about 15 minutes to install. I just sat in the driveway with the car running. Also, can confirm, I now have "nature sounds".

Original software version was V099 in my 2019 GT1.

Well looks like the chore list just got a little bit longer for the weekend.

UPDATE:

Software version was V108.190720, now upgraded to V115.200401.

Just brought home a 2021 Stinger GT2, map is
NAM.13.41.42.660.102.5

Is this the current version?

So...I'm a bit out of it but are the updates free now? You just use this update.kia.com utility with a new 32GB SDCard and that's it? Any catches? Can I go from 13.5 to 14.5?

Basically, yes. Some 2018s had issues. 2019+ seem fine.
