I never use the built-in NAV but overall system updates as well as updates to CarPlay and Android Auto can be beneficial.I have never updated my NAV, it's still whatever came with the car (2018 GT2).
Worth the update? Just curious. I've never been one to update the OEM stuff, just used my phone.
How did you update? Did you order a new SD?Got my Nav 14 update today. Installed, no problems. Really don't like the new display look as much as the old one, but I reckon I'll get used to it. However, it's going to take a long time to figure out how to do stuff that I spent the last year learning, as lots of menu things are different. Anyone know where there is a link to a current manual? If there is a current manual that matches V 14?
Assuming you paid the $25 USD to get it, how long did it take after you ordered it?Got my Nav 14 update today. Installed, no problems. When you order there is a link to download the new features brochure.Ordered on 5th, rec on 11th.
No Manual available from KIA. 18 page "New Features" brochure attached.
FWIT - The brochure didn't come with it. A phone call to KIA customer service got them to e-mail me a copy.
As I'm sure you are aware, it's extremely unlikely that any issue is going to occur with a rewrite - and you still have the file, so can always write a new card again if necessary. Can't believe I'm asking this (I swear I'm an IT professional), but I want to be sure... is there any reason I can't or shouldn't use the SD card that is already in my car? It's 32gb class 10

The one thing you might want to guard against by keeping the older version is the possibility that they bungled the update, or removed a feature you consider vital.
I've just been rewriting mine, and will continue to do so.
Personally never tried a downgrade, but that may be true - up to how they coded it whether that is allowed.even if you pop the old card back in, you will not be able to downgrade the OS on the unit, and thus will not be able to access removed features. you would just be running on an older map, if it even allows that.
My 2020 GT1 right out of the gate did not show the signal and battery status icons like my 2016 Optima did or my wife’s current 2020 Santa Fe Limited which I don’t like at all.did you lose the phone signal and battery status icons on the top right?

I see those icons only when on a call.
