My dealer told me my car still not due until March 31! I was hoping my car was on this boat... Not so sure now

What was the delivery date on your contract?

There was none. I ordered before there was any in the country. Back in November

That’s odd, surely it should be delivered sooner since you ordered in Nov 2020. My dealer said late Feb - maybe you can try the trick that another user did and call Kia support to get them to switch cars for you so you receive a car that’s closer to the country?

Yeah I think I was the first person here to mention that I called Kia support. Apparently they did switch the car for one which was arriving sooner so I am going to reach out to them again and ask for some more specific timing details.

We ordered ours 19 Nov and just heard from dealer today saying ours was "in production" and they would let us know when it is in the country. We had estimated delivery 12 Feb so I've fired off a query to Kia Australia seeking a firmer delivery date. Of course it may be on the wharf (at Brisbane) and dealer not yet notified. Hoping Kia themselves have a firmer grasp of the situation.

Kia NZ confirmed that a make and model was ordered for my dealership but wouldn’t/couldn’t say when it was expected and that I should seek advice from my dealer on timing.... so far not overly impressed.

Looks good. Personally I'm waiting for some OEM or aftermarket badges of the new KIA logo. I reckon it looks great. Not sure if it will cover up the old badge all that well if there are locator holes etc. Might mean a small job at the panel beater if there are holes.

Glovis Condor has arrived at Port Kembla now. Hopefully all the QLD members receive their Stingers soon so that NSW can receive theirs soon after. Fingers crossed

Just off the phone with Kia Customer service. Seems the car I ordered 19 Nov and told would be mid Feb delivery is not expected to be delivered until April! Very not happy. Will be discussing with the dealer.

I'm really sorry to hear that PeterC. I'm in a similar situation as you. I really don't understand WTF is going on with the orders!

Clearly KIA do not operate on a first in, first served basis, but rather different dealers get different preference based on their sales volumes etc. This is similar to how Toyota work. Good luck trying to get a Hybrid RAV4 if you don't buy from the leading dealers!

As a consumer this is infuriating as there is no way to know which dealer is a top dealer; regardless however this is a rubbish way to work.

Annoyingly the dealers don't seem to try and swap cars around with dealers outside their ownership structures.

Cancelled the order with dealer. Not prepared to wait another 2 months and even then possibly get further pushback. Dealer not to blame in my view. This is Kia's doing. Pandemic or not they should be able to commit to delivery dates from time an order is taken. Dealer advised some models are now going out to almost 6 months. Take an order today and be lucky to see it in July.

Sorry to hear, @PetrC, it's frustrating for all of us at the moment. My dealer said late Jan to early Feb delivery, if it doesn't arrive by late Feb I might also consider cancelling my order.

Spoke to my dealer, was advised about the further delay, believe or not they said they we not taking any further orders, I was lucky because at least mine was in the system, They volunteered to cancel the order. They also said it was an industry wide issue, which I have heard from other sources.

I look forward to other members receiving their orders on-time, then I will get cranky
