• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

MY21 Aussie Release Date

For recently delivered cars, worth checking under your steering wheel to ensure the dealer has removed all the protective tape. Was poking around and felt something strange. Been driving around 3 weeks and didn’t notice. Wouldn’t be surprised if there were others.
Check your rear roof-mounted grab handles. Discovered plastic on them two months after taking delivery!

Not sure who you’re asking as you quoted yourself, but mine was a Nov 2020 build
Sorry, it was you I was asking, sounds about right, they must stamp them on when they start the chassis build, not as they leave the factory.

Enjoy the beast!

Found another one. Rear licence plates lights still had clear plastic over them.

How confident are we that Stingers are on the Glovis Condor ship? I was tracking another ship Baltimore Highway that was in port at Incheon, Korea 24 Dec 2020 and then via some Japanese ports to Brisbane 26 Jan 2021, now enroute to Fremantle after Melbourne and Port Kembla. I thought mine with delivery eta mid-Feb in Qld may have been on that.

Stingers ship from Ulsan, had it been there?

Kia uses Hyundai GLOVIS ships only.

Cheers mate. Congrats on your new ride - looks sweet. I'm regional Qld so hoping it arrives in port at Brissy tomorrow. Will be another 2 weeks I expect before it's ready.
Thanks man, still sitting in the garage until I can drive it but I’ve gone around the block a few times. Gave it a half spurt and it’s got some go. I hardwired my dashcam in yesterday, all ready to go.

What colour is yours? GT?

Yes GT. Orange. Not mine really got it for wifey who had wanted a Mustang but that just didn't make sense when compared to Stinger.

There was an orange GT MY21 unsold at my local dealer, could’ve got that one and had it a few days ago haha

Never been a fan of Mustangs, and the stinger is so much better.

Well I guess hers will have 2021 compliance as a consolation. Cheers.

Nice colour. Couldn't bring myself to order it in that colour (I went ceramic grey) but they do look great in real life.

Hi,
Just picked up a red MY21 and plan on doing the dashcam install too. Any tips? Which fuse did you tap into? Sorry if should be in a different thread.

Thanks in advance.

Hey, it was pretty easy.

I mounted the camera on the bottom of the mirror/camera box. The only two cables that are visible is the cable going from the camera into the roof and the cable that is running in front of the A Pillar into the door seal.
  • Tucked the cable into the gap between the windscreen & roof
  • Ran the cable in front of the A Pillar (there is a gap where the A Pillar meets the roof)
    • You can run it behind the A Pillar but I didn't feel confident in taking the A Pillar off without breaking a clip, though it would look cleaner running behind. If you do decide to do this, make sure it goes behind the airbag
  • I then pulled off sections at a time of the door seal and ran the cable behind it down to the side of the dash
  • Unclipped the side panel and ran the cables into the fuse box area
  • You will see a bolt that connects to the frame, mount your ground to that bolt
  • Take out your desired fuses (fuse puller in the engine bay fuse box), then wrap your wire around the positive side of the fuse
    • If you use the same fuses as me, the right leg of both fuses is the positive side. I don't know if that's different for the fuses that look to be upside down by their amp rating on the top
  • Tidy up the excess cabling with a cable tie
  • Put the side cover back on, then the stripping over the top
  • Close the fusebox
  • Done!

Wow... thanks for the tips, man. Much appreciated! Will get to it in the next couple of weekends when time permits.

Thanks again - enjoy your ride (when you can ;) )

Cheers,
