Tips will do nothing to fix rasp or resonance. The only thing you can do is remove the aftermarket downpipe and put the stock one back on, or put on an aftermarket midpipe that has a resonator.

Hey recently joined the club (cheers @Gtecko ) with the mbrp amd went with the oval tips from aliexpress 63MM-105MM Matt

They look great and don't sound too raspy thankfully..stock downpipe etc. So I'm happy there.

I'm still getting used to 'auto' transmission low rpm (1-2.5k) exhaust noise kinda reminds me of stupid exhausts on crappy cars. I do really enjoy the mbrp went getting on it and it has a great character and glad it's not over the top. I think the downpipe is the issue as others have said it def more aggressive in other cars I've done. This is the first performance car without a manual so I think I just have to get over it lol

One think of the tips is internal vs external diameter as the shop doing the install had to fab something up and weld them on as the diameter were the same as the exhaust..I'll take a pic in the morning. Helps i think with drone not rasp and I like the black look, makes the rear diffuser look sexy!

thanks! did it solve the problem or just make it better? I like the sound for the most part and don't want to get rid of the Ark's if I don't have to

I didn't really have a problem, not to my ears anyway, but the tips completely removed the little bit of resonance that did exist. At cruising speeds car is almost a quiet as stock.

Hey guys - I have a new option for aftermarket tips needed to compliment the MBRP exhaust. Installing them today and have painted them black. Once its all setup ill report back here and make a separate thread with everything i've purchased. It's a local USA option instead of the aliexpress tips. They're oval too and look great (at least in my opinion)

Pic if the Akrapovic tips with additiional section welded in between cos they didn't fit..
They kinda stuck put a little further but dont mind if it helps with drone. I'm only concerned for the kids in the back and only under engine load at low rpm and road trip.

He faint overrun burble is slightly more noticeable and the downshifts are addictive.

@runner1 you need to drive so i can hear it outside.

@moorejakej hope you get the sound sorted with the DP do you have an intake?

Im thinking of buying the mbrp exhaust but dont want to go with tips. Anyone running the mbrp, no other exhaust mods, and stock tips? Would love to hear your thoughts.

It's loud in the cabin and there's a decent amount of resonance/drone. Only you can tell if it'll be a bother.

Not running an intake yet, figured that would be my next big purchase down the road once I get the exhaust all figured out. Just ordered some tips, hopefully that helps the problem. If not, might see myself going back to stock downpipes.

Busy day after the install - here are some pictures to review. Sometime this week ill post a formal thread on these.

A+ so far

That's how I've been running mine for the last 8 months or so and I have no complaints

Bonzai, can you link where you got those tips? The aliexpress link above your post didn't show the AK logo, not sure if its the correct one.

Thanks

Anyone with MBRP + catless downpipes having issues with turbo overboost/shut off? I have MBRP installed and considering downpipes... No tune planned for the near future, likely JB4 down the road though.
