3.3TT Low Oil Pressure

Mine started to leak couple weeks ago. Wil be taking care of it, once it gets warm enough. 2018 with 145k miles.
Mine is not leaking but the sensor still comes on every once in awhile. I get the pressure tested everytime I get my oil changed. My mechanic does it complimentary since I discussed with him this issue. He said you can run on the faulty sensor just keep checking the pressure regularly.

When yours leaks where do you find the oil?

That's awesome, the vast majority of owners just assume it's the sensor and don't bother diagnosing/confirming by checking the actual oil pressure.

Good on your mechanic.

Manual for 3.3 requires engine out to replace oil pressure sensor.
WTH you taking about, only the upper and lower plenum need to be removed.

Any chance your guy can explain how he tests it quickly? I wouldn't mind having an easy test to run each oil change if this ever happens to me.

If I were a guessing man, I would guess it is a simple adapter like this one, or this one, but specifically to fit our Stinger oil filter threads.

For all I know, the ones I linked might actually fit our cars directly, and we just don't know yet.
No they don’t. These are them one for exhaust and one for intake. Both banks under the valve cover.

I’m almost ready to take the task. I just need to know if I need gaskets for the solenoids themselves.

I thought we were talking about measuring the oil pressure through the oil filter housing?

Oh my bad you’re right these replies were supposed to be in a completely different thread. Yes you’re correct.

Did we ever figure out how to measure the pressure?
My best guess is still Post #125 in this thread.

I have not yet seen an adapter for our engines for sale anywhere.

DJ, is the YouTube vid (I can't post links apparently) from inside the car in Canada where the tech pops the cover, pulls foam, pours in some kind of fluid and calls it a day your vid? WTF did they do?

Just got the light today on the way to and from work and also a test drive after work, happens when coming to a stop. fine while driving and idles cold with no light, when its at temp it'll flash a bit then stay on at idle. No weird noises or anything while light is on.

140,000 KM or about 90,000 miles. 3.3TT. I just picked it up a few weeks ago lol. I'm in Canada and its been frigid AF so wondering if that could be coming into play.

Am I OK to keep driving a few days until I get it looked at? Hoping my extended power train warranty covers it, if not I guess Ill max out my line of credit, I'm in too deep to stop now. F*CK MY LIFE...

Unrelated but another woe.. Second day of owning the car, the drivers side parking brake actuator died. Dealer had just done the brakes before I bought it, so I'm thinking something went wrong there. They're going good for that but I doubt they'll help me with this a month later. I know mileage is a bit high, should have skipped maybe but never seen one for sale and it had perfect service history, or at least a lot of recorded service, maybe that was actually a bad sign lol.

The items that have failed for you, have nothing to do with any service history. There is no service that you can do that will prolong the life of the oil pressure switch, or the parking brake actuator. Unfortunately, they just fail when they fail.

Yeah true, just saying so far I've had bad luck. but yeah I knew what I was getting into a bit with 140,000km. Also stressed tf out lmao

I as well, I'm hoping your extended powertrain warranty covers the oil pressure switch replacement..

If it doesn't, certainly get it fixed anywhere other than the dealer, unless you have a very good dealer

Well turns out the Chrysler dealer sold me a Chrysler warranty and not a proper aftermarket one. So only dodge can work on it. They told me to call roadside assistance and get it towed to Kia but roadside refused since it wasn't Chrysler. I doubt Dodge will want to dig into the engine to do this job since they couldn't even diag my parking brake. Maybe I can get my warranty switched to one that covers electrical and get this issue warrantied lmao. My current Chrysler one doesn't cover any sensors
