3.3TT Low Oil Pressure

Good to know, it's doable without removing main water line. Will definitely do it as pm job, next time I clean the valves.
Isn't this just a hypothesis thus far

From the video he posted, looks like they replaced it without removing that line. But the video is kind of crappy to be 100% sure. Hopefully we'll get an update on it.
seems like so searched it on a few FB groups at least 2 people(K8 Group) have confirmed and made instructions just like the video posted above.

I’m still riding on it. Oil Light has come on only once since then. Nothing different in engine behavior or sounds. Oil clean as ever.

I’m not too worried about it but I still want to complain to corporate.

Which Facebook groups did you search it on, are you able to link the groups?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I am still waiting for the ordered part to arrive. Unfortunately, It's on backorder everywhere and will take about 3 weeks. Interestingly, the weather warmed up a bit today to -1 celcius and lo and behold, the red light does not show up at all. It makes me to believe that colder temperatures have an effect on the oil which in turn affects these sensors, especially on high mileage vehicles. I will continue to monitor until the sensor arrives. There is nothing to worry about if you don't idle your engine too much.
Did you ever manage to get this done?

I have figured out a way to replace this sensor for just the price of $130 for the sensor, $40 for coolant $80 for injector rings and $60 for oil and filter. Check out my YouTube video.

So, what is the way? Grind the wrench?

I think so, I had to grind down my wrench a bit last week to be able to tighten the new sensor in.

^^Why isn't this covered under warranty? This sensor is part of the drivetrain no?

I would say so! Mine was replaced 3 days ago, after $1,200 shop bill. Was about to drive 1 1/2 hours away to train a client. Stopped at an ATM, but when I came outside, my engine was off and every light on the dasg was lit up. I called the dealer and they sent the master tech who worked on it right to me. He listened to this god awful sound and said, “Dude, turn it off.” Before he could tell me, I shed a few tears…

Any of you that have the real G80 Sport with the twin turbo would have shed a few tears too, so don’t deny it!!! LOL
I love this car more than my… ok, I’ll stop there. I won’t even let my wife drive it! HAHAH

Well, they are saying 6-8 weeks for a $17,000 motor to come in from 3 different places in the world. This sucks!!! Now I have a rental with a weed-wacker under the hood.

WWWWWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

You’d cry too, admit it!!! LOL

Recall from last month. Take it in, bitch and complain, get a complementary rental for a week or two.

I understand that issue with the bypass valve - but the Stinger 3.3 does not include a bypass valve in the filter - it's just an overpriced cartridge element - and nothing more.

Fram doesn't even make a cartridge oil filter for this engine!

What is a high end oil filter? WIX brand? OEM?

I bet you never make that mistake again. The light on the dash for oil is a low oil pressure light - Not a please change oil when convenient light.

During a regular oil change - the lube tech likely doesn't even look at the old filter. There would be no need for inspection. Could have been the wrong filter without causing anyone to question - especially if it's just a CM or 2 short.
What filters does your friends mechanic shop use? Are you sure it was correct?

I would love to know more about Kia's claim that the wrong size filter was used.... Wrong in what dimension?
Too long wont fit
Too short could exist - I guess this is theoretically possible
Too large diameter won't fit

Most likely the mesh size

On the report it said wrong size oil filter. The only size that would fit but still be wrong would be the mesh size. If it was wrong size diameter or length was too long it would not physically fit.

This just came in and says it’s related to our oil pressure light coming on. That’s interesting, this whole time we were assuming it was a fault sensor.

Any thoughts?
Two separate issues. A faulty sensor will cause the light to intermittently come on (false positive). An actual oil leak from the deteriorated hose can cause the light to come on once it loses enough pressure (true positive).
