Limited Production Stinger Atlantica

We need a "Carlifornia edition" for the hotter states. As much as the colder states need heated seats and steering wheels we need cooled seats. I drive a fully loaded Optima SX right now and I am looking to by a Stinger but the only way to get the cooled seats is to get the fully loaded GT2 it seems. I have ventilated seats now and I love that feature.

I knew going in I wasn't going to be able to afford a GT2, but for those who have carried the Stinger banner as early adopters this SUCKS!!!!! Kia, you screwed over a LOT of fans with this :mad::cautious::devil::eek::cry:
The automobile makers' marketing departments are always the most clueless, detached people in the company. This looks like an attempted halo car to suit their egos and any residual inferiority complex from their history of being an economy brand. Too bad.

Sofyan mentioned in his recent snow-track video (Redline Reviews) that the Atlantica will be a standard trim for 2019. That's gotta be a tough pill to swallow for those of you who bought GT2s and wanted the Deep Chroma Blue or some of the Euro-spec features.

Hmm, I'm not sure about that. The people that really, really wanted the DCB were going to wait or get nothing anyway. Those that went ahead and pulled the trigger were probably ones that could take it (if it were available) or leave it. DCB was my #1 from the get go, but I also was open to Panthera Metal with Red interior if I could get it. My wife solidified it though because she was 100% DCB. We saw every color in person except Panthera Metal but now I guess it doesn't matter anymore.

The enhanced features alone could be a sore point whether you were into DCB or not. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they released some of those features for other 2019 models. However, I don't think they will be offering DCB again anytime soon so I'm planning to jump in with this 2019 release. I still might have a preference for the Red interior, but with DCB and the enhanced features I think I'll be Ok with the brown.

I think people are greatly overestimating how well this car is selling. My dealer in a mid sized City still has yet to sell one. The going rate for a GT2 is 3-4k below MSRP plus they are still offering 6-7k lease cash. If the Stinger was selling better than expected none of that would be true.

I have to agree. I keep track of a dealer in a nearby city (1million+ pop) and they still have the 6 Stingers they had when I went to check them out last month. There are 4 other kia dealerships in town though.

inventory does appear to be slow/stagnant here in PA. I happen to be at a local dealer the day they rec'd and sold their first stinger (I missed seeing it), but since then they seemed to retain most of them in inventory. Dealers I've spoken to are optimistic warmer weather will garner more sales. Selfishly, I hope incentives remain or improve as I don't have a singer yet!

If they offered DCB as a normal color the wife would have already bought one...

I like brown interiors but find you can't go wrong with black - seems like that makes most folks happy or at least content.

A lot of people may have difficulty coming to terms with investing almost $50K in a KIA.
Personally, as a prospective buyer, I hope they do keep the Lease Cash offer going at least through the summer and really anything else that may make the price better for me at the time of purchase. I'll take any money off I can get even if it has to come due to slow sales. Whatever, if that's the case, then I'll certainly hope that their sales pick up AFTER I get one.

My main issue all remains that a car at this price range from a brand that is not typically at this level needs to have things like the 360 degree camera and should make the interior as nice as possible ie the suede headliner.

If Accords and Camrys have features that a 50k car doesn't, that's a problem. As much as I like the interior design, it still doesn't feel like a 50k interior, close but why cut the corners. I would gladly spend the extra $700-1000 to get those two things that they will have in the 2019 special edition but I don't want that color combo. The G70 interior looks much more old school to me but im willing to bet the overall fit and finish will feel much more luxurious.

Those of us that are interested in this car are basically playing a waiting game to see when we will get the options available in other countries and soon only in a "limited" edition with only a single color combo.

The part that bothered me was going to have extra tech what's that mean , are they going to include wireless charging station and 360 cameras hasn't even been a year yet I figured that would come out next year . Yeah the colors OK still on the dark side , bitch to keep clean , and let's not even talk about scratches. But that's a personal preference God bless you people with a dark colored cars I bought my last black one about 100 years ago. For me it's the 360 camera every other country has the damn thing except for the US it wasn't a dealbreaker for us to buy our GT2 AWD , two reasons the 360 camera would be nice , for pulling into a parking stall and not taking out the front in with the curb with the damn cement bumper, and that camera on the right-hand mayor is a godsend to save your rims when parallel parking , and yes I can park just fine in either of those conditions if I think I'm going to screw up my rims I'll park in the middle of the damn street . It seems to me the way their marketing the stinger in the US is like a box of cracker jacks , should I buy a box now or wait to see what come's in next month's box. You better hurry up with all this limited Yellow Limited blue limited limited you don't have much time left Kia the G70 will be out shortly , and all the people who have been sitting on the fence after reading your new offer May just wait a few extra months and jump on a Genesis . And the app for the Genesis is far superior over the UVO on the stinger . You can start the Genesis from anywhere in the world as long as you got a signal from your iPhone, set the temperature in the car , Defroster, lock your doors, unlock your doors etc. Oh by the way did I mention the G 70 is quicker from 0 to 60 , and it does 168 MPH . So with all that being said we still bought a stinger , because the diamond tuck seats and the ass end of the G 70 was a dealbreaker for us . All and all We love the looks of the stinger better. I realize you can't please all the people all the time , but you don't have to stick it in your loyal customers face every six months. Oh and by the way why don't you update the damn UVO so it does something useful like lock and unlock the doors and start the car. That's my story and I'm sticking to it .

The G70s will be coming out soon I think they'll keep up the incentives on the lease program for a while . Good luck

FYI - I was on the phone last week with KIA Consumer Affairs. The Atlantica, according to them, has been postponed indefinitely. They are unclear at this time if the car has been cancelled, just postponed or if it will be combined with another limited edition. According to Consumer Affairs, all digital information on the Atlantica has been removed.

Thanks tv77 for digging that out. It does look like the press release and all of its photographic remnants on the Kia media website have indeed gone AWOL. It may be a good omen for dark car/dark interior combo(s) coming for '19 or a frustrating tease/goof. Only time (or maybe one of our journalist friends who took the original bait/press junket) will tell.

Wait so is it still postponed? Did they really say it was postponed in May of 2018 even though the 2019s wouldn't be making an appearance until at least near the end of the year? That sounds strange.

I noticed in the twitter ads that they made sure to mention that the car shown was a custom GT2 that was not for sale. What's with the teasing?
We already know that the car already exists everywhere else so there's no excuse for buyers to wait any longer. Maybe they're reconsidering how many model years that they can keep the US in the dark. All I know is a Deep Chroma Blue GT2 AWD with all the features (whether they want to call it a limited edition or not) had better be available when the 2019s appear.

Well, it looks like we may have an explanation for the disappearance of the Atlantica....it can look like Laker purple in some lights.

DCB is not coming to the US in 2019. A list of available colors for the US for MY19 has already been released and DCB is not in it.
The model shown in that ad is the Atlantica model featured on the press release, but with different wheels and a new badge.

Keep in mind that the features shown, on the now deceased Atlantica, will be available on MY19 Stingers.

Has there been an official press release on the 2019s? Given what I've seen to date, I wouldn't put it past them, but that would be a stunning slip on their part. I mean they officially announced it and had press outings that showed the vehicle so if they seriously just screwed that up...well.

I'm not convinced the MY19 color list has any bearing on special colors...yellow wasn't on the MY18 color list...I think this is further evidence HCB will be their special color in 2019

Are you guys saying the Atlantica deep chroma blue edition never got released in the states after all the fanfare? That's infuriating if so.
