Yeah they canceled the release after all that fanfare. Crazy huh?Are you guys saying the Atlantica deep chroma blue edition never got released in the states after all the fanfare? That's infuriating if so.

Did they make any official announcements at all to confirm? I'm just trying to fathom if it's really possible for them to produce a show car and pay for fanfare and press only to pull something like this. And what's the point of showing cars like the "King James" version of the car (which is just the Deep Chroma Blue GT with custom fascia and rims) if you're not going to sell anything like it? You know how much money they must've paid for Lebron to be in that commercial?
The point is marketing, getting people to talk about the car. Kind of like you are doing, or people posting on FB.
Attaching James’ name to the Stinger brings a different level of attention than Steven Tyler and Fittapaldi (sp?).
Amazing they said they could order the color. At this point I guess anything is possible with certain color combos in 2018 that came out that you could not allegedly order.I hadn't noticed too many companies paying large amounts of money to tease stuff that you can't possibly get, but then again I guess I don't normally pay that much attention to such things. Anyway, I'll just hold my tongue on KIAs "marketing".
I was at a dealer last week and the manager assured me he could in fact order the color. He mentioned the MSRP of the car. I didn't really entertain the possibility that he might be telling the truth because I didn't feel comfortable committing to anything at that time anyway. Also, I hadn't yet heard anything official about the 2019s on this forum. I told him that we just wanted to take another look at the GTs, but were encouraged to see that they had pretty much sold all their stock. I guess it was a good thing that I didn't commit to anything though as it could have easily turned into a long drawn out bait & switch routine.
Currently, there's no harm done if it doesn't ever show up. At a minimum, KIA has shown that there is a market for such a vehicle so that other manufacturers can compete too.
