500-unit Production Run Promises Quick Sell-Out
  • Exclusive metallic blue paint, wheels and luxurious interior add to Stinger’s stunning appearance
  • Unique badging make Kia’s Stinger GT Atlantica a one-of-a-kind vehicle
  • New tech and luxury features previously not offered on the U.S. Stinger provide an added level of convenience
IRVINE, Calif., March 6, 2018 – The Stinger sport sedan has ushered in a new era for Kia and has redefined driving enthusiasts’ opinions of the brand since going on sale in late last year. Continuing that excitement and arriving this summer, the limited-edition Stinger GT Atlantica celebrates the cross-Atlantic collaboration between the U.S. and the vehicle’s Germany-based development roots and introduces exclusive features not previously offered. With only a 500-unit limited-production run, the Atlantica edition is guaranteed to sell out quickly. The Atlantica edition includes unique paint, wheels and Nappa leather interior. Exclusive numbered badging inside and out, along with a bevy of technology and luxury features, make this 2019 Stinger truly something special.

“We recognize Stinger is something special and wanted to commemorate the 2019 model year with a stand-out variant,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, Kia Motors America (KMA). “Out of the box, the Stinger is a tried-and-true sport sedan with much of its development taking place on Germany’s grueling Nürburgring race circuit. The Atlantica edition introduces more European flare while distinguishing itself with exclusive badging and features not previously offered by Kia in the U.S. market.” Read more.

SOOOO , they finally did something right , a fully loaded Stinger with proper rear badging is coming to the US !!

Wow! Finally a Chroma Blue. With only 500 units, I wonder how much more past a AWD GT2 this will go for. Glad we are getting the color combination either way!

I don't believe that rear STINGER badge is coming on the car to the U.S. Here's what they do say is coming:

"Exclusive numbered badging inside and out. Three tasteful Stinger Atlantica badges, one on the front center console and two that flank both front fenders, round out this exclusive and limited package."

"Concept vehicle depicted is based on a 2018 preproduction Stinger GT2 AWD. Vehicle badging is subject to change without notice prior to vehicle’s on-sale date."

I'm almost certain the KIA badge will still be on that back for the Stinger "Atlantica" in America...

Who wants to reserve one?

I’m sorry, but this is horseshit.

Some US Dealers are already pricing the yellow GT2 at 60k+, and now they’re offering a spec international Stinger GT limited in a new color, and the MSRP will probably be absurdly high, just to get features the rest of the world already has. Why screw the US market?

Color me frustrated, especially if the GT2 for ‘19 is equipped just like the ‘18.

I saw the note on the bottom but I am hopeful they will keep it. That car is similar to the one they were show casing at many dealers across the US, except for the red interior, the optional 19" wheels (which I prefer), 2.0T engine and the Lexicon audio system which we don't get but should for the price of the car. The should keep the HK for the premium and GT and make the Lexicon or Krell (they have been showing that in the Korean K7, K5 and K3 recently) available in the GT1 and GT2. I am so happy that they are also bringing the brown interior as well.

As they say.......Strike while the iron is hot. No doubt KIA North America was reading the complaints in this forum. They listened. 1 of 500 is not as rare as the sunset yellow but limited none the less. We sold our limited edition under sticker. No games at Kia of Muncie. 1st deposit takes it home.

I knew going in I wasn't going to be able to afford a GT2, but for those who have carried the Stinger banner as early adopters this SUCKS!!!!! Kia, you screwed over a LOT of fans with this :mad::cautious::devil::eek::cry:

Yes, you're right! I skimmed through too quickly. It seems silly that only the Atlantica will get the rear badge...
they want to help keep you in biz here ...................:laugh::laugh:

This will be in interesting wrinkle for the remaining Yellow LTDs . should provide some extra haggling ability on pricing ...............

Well, at least we know there may be the ability to swap out interior leathers down the line...I was hoping for some brown to go with the blue exterior :)

It isn’t the number available. It’s the idea that they’ll upcharge for features already widely available (often for less money) around the world.

I just think this is a miss on Kia’s part, and assuming the MSRP on this will be ~55k, it likely takes the stinger off my list. Residuals are low on these, MF is really, really high. I’m sorry, but a Stinger isn’t worth 700+ a month on a lease.

I really believe this car is selling more than they expected and they are hoping to make the best of it by doing these limited runs. If it keeps up, they may very well build one that can beat the snot out of an RS5 and M4, in a "limited" run, in about 2 years if there is still a demand for the car. Why make a lot of a product and have it languish and lose money when you can keep adding limited runs of a particular version.

See that car in my Avatar photo, Micro Blue 2.0T in GT trim, that's what I want, I'll take the red or brown interior and a tune to boost the power to @ 300 hp/tq. By the end of the year into next March, I'll be ready. If they are not enough takers on this Atlantica version and they have one left over that has not been abused, I'll take it!

Here’s an unpopular opinion on this forum.

I’m glad they are making this car but I have no desire to get one or jealousy that it exists after I bought mine. Not a fan of the color, love brown leather but don’t like it on this car, don’t care about 360 cam or wireless charging and it cost me $40 to swap the badges to what I wanted.

Again I’m glad it exists for those that want to buy it. New features will come out every year, if you always wait for the next model year you’ll never have the car.

It is like buying a iPhone. As soon as it is released the next model is already in the works and spy shots are on all of the websites. We called this. color, wireless, rear heated seats. This was not a big surprise. Want to make something special? How would you of liked to have bought a Hellcat only to find out the Demon was next? These moves happen all the time to keep things moving and the hype continuing.
