Lease Incentive History by Month

Of course I get to the dealer last night and they pulled the bait and switch. "oh, you wanted that price before rebates?"...so I was pretty pissed because I clearly stated that on an email and had to drive through snow and 45 mins to get there. I did learn that the rebate is at $11,000 now? Kia.com calculator does not reflect this...as of last night. Had 2 dealers tell me it changed to $11,000 now. I don't know the details so don't ask me.
Lmao yup. "We are just breaking even on this deal with all of these discounts!" They think we are #$%&!$# idiots.

Exactly! I don't even know why they bother having Sales people? The majority have no clue about the vehicle you are trying to buy or know what the incentives are. I had to explain to him all the rebates that are out there right now. Just sad! Even the Sales Manager on duty had to call the GM because he wasn't sure about a lot of the stuff. It drives me insane! You have one job...know your product you are trying to sell to me!

I'm going through the same shit right now. Every salesman is telling me if a car goes 10% off MSRP then that dealer was desperate for a sale and they are telling me to go away. Can't wait for them to call me at the end of this month with offers! Can't stand this process.....

December Lease Cash, MF, Residual stayed the same as November.

Yep, looks like lease incentives are the same as November across all trims.

RWD models below.

So if trend continues with last year, we should see a nice increase in incentive next month!

edit: Forgot that theres some 36 month values. See post below.

Do note that January of '19 is when I changed from 36mo to 24mo lease incentives on the chart. I'm not sure whether the incentive was identical between 24/36 before that time, but I was not able to track it. Even now, 24mo leases offer more lease cash compared to 36mo.

Still, lease cash has mostly updated on a 2-month schedule and we should see some kind of increase in January. I'd guess around $500.

2020 incentives are out.

2020 GT2 AWD in Califormia is $8K for 24/10.

Could someone make a list of lease incentive history from the beginning? For AWD models? This salesman I was talking with was like how would you know lease incentives one year from now. It's not like Kia would change their lease incentive from what it is now to something totally different next year.

There’s no way to look up past incentives, aside from someone working at a dealership who might have access to those records. I have been recording the RWD incentives manually in a spreadsheet, month by month.

In a way the salesman is right - no way of knowing exactly what incentives will be in a year. Chances are, they won’t get any worse. However, it’s possible that Kia could increase their residuals and lower the MF, while reducing lease cash and arrive at the same payment. Not likely, but possible.

Yeah that most likely won't happen, I'm pretty sure Kia will follow the same lease incentives this next year as they did this year. I can't wait till later next year when they have these 10k lease incentives again. I'm waiting out for a 2020 GT2 AWD in ceramic silver with red interior.

If you’re waiting that long you may want to see what’s in store for the 2021 model. I initially was going to wait for a refresh, but decided to go for the same color combo you’re looking at with $10.5k. In late 2020 or very early 2021, there will probably be a $2-4K difference in incentives, but the 2021 model changes may be worth the difference. Also, keep in mind, a bit higher resale value at any given point in the future.

2019 Kia Stinger Lease Deals and Prices

You can currently go here and ask for MF/RV/lease cash. You can kinda fit some pieces of the puzzle. If you also had asked Edmunds mods every single month, then the puzzle would be complete. That being said, I wonder if they'd be willing to give you data from the last year or so for your zip code and model/trim.

The small disclaimer here is, one time when I was playing around with Kia's calculator, I noticed that there was a discrepancy between what it said and what response I received from Edmunds.

So by the looks of this lease incentive sheet, could we fairly assume that 19s will still have lease support (meaning you can still lease and get lease cash) ?

Also, @Sabs , what zip/state are you located that gets these numbers? Trying to estimate how much a '19 would get in lease cash in Q1 2020.

Food for thought (at least in Washington/California): 2020 Stingers have slightly better residuals and MF, though of course less lease cash:

GT2 AWD 24/10K
.00192/52% - $11220/11000
vs
.00190/55% - $8800
Per Edmunds, although some people report $12,000-$12,720 for GT2 AWD

Ok, I'm pulling my hair out here. I thought in the past I could go onto the Kia site under Offers and find the special offers where they list the lease incentives, but when I do that now for either 2019 or 2020 Stingers in my area (60540) I don't see any lease cash back offers. Is that right?

Those are the correct steps, but the incentives don't usually don't show up at the very beginning of the month. They should start to show up in the next few days.

Lease Incentives 5-18 to 1-20.webp

There's a significant jump in January incentives on the '19 GT1 and GT2 if you're shopping for a leftover.

I've added incentives for 2020 models. On 24 month leases, the offers are at least $1000 better than the '19s started out with when they hit the lots.

Keep in mind these are for the RWD models, and may vary by dealer location.

Lease Incentives 5-18 to 05-20.webp

Incentives went up $200-300 this month on 2019's and 2020's.

'19 and '20 GT's are only $200 apart in pricing. If you're looking to buy a GT, I'd go with a 2020. The higher resale value will make up for the difference in lease incentives and negotiation off MSRP.

If you're still able to find a '19 GT1 or '19 GT2 that you like, the combination of negotiation off MSRP and the lease incentive should get you to 30-33% below MSRP. Some great deals to be had.

The higher resale value will make up for the difference in lease incentives and negotiation off MSRP.

With a lease why would you care about resale value? None of these cars are going to be worth their buyout price or their residual now. These Stingers are really seeing some heavy depreciation now.

Lease it and then turn it in at the end of the lease.
