Kia Stinger Price

We spend a lot of time speculating on this forum, so it's pretty interesting to me to see what appears to be actual information show up. Any idea how much these prices and dates are based on reality, VS the salesman just being willing to write up some paper work with some numbers for the sake of making a sale?

There was about one week between seeing the salesperson the first time and me signing the contract. He chased up through his dealership and Kia Australia what the estimated price is and if they can accept an order. The price is inline with recent Austrian articles and videos so I'm reasonably confident $50-52(aud) plus on road costs. If not I can cancel the contract.
I also believe that the car is in direct competition with the local Built Commodore SSV redline (Chevy SS in USA) which is a fully loaded car with a 6.2l V8 and is priced at $62,000(AUD) drive away, I don't think KIA Australia would have a business case to sell it dearer if they are trying to increase market share.

I know we've pretty much come to the conclusion that going over MSRP for the Stinger is unlikely. But I think this story points out that some dealers may do just that. Here's a bit:

Kia's new Stinger luxury hatchback was the hit of the Detroit auto show when it debuted in January, and the brand has big plans for its impact on Kia's image.

But not all dealers will get to sell the Stinger when it arrives to market late this year.

Kia may limit the number of dealers who sell the Stinger, just as only about a third of its dealers sell the full-size K900 sedan, according to dealers who attended the brand's make meeting at the NADA convention.

very well could be. i'd say probably as well. they probably don't want to crappiest kia dealers selling the stinger anyway. it's definitely an upscale car.

Correct; if they want to give the impression of an upscale car, they're going to focus on the upscale dealers. Also, I imagine nobody in podunk Texabamsas is going to drop this much money on one 'dem Koe-reeun cars.

LOL! Hahaha youre probably right. I think itll sell good in California and New York. Maybe Florida. Right? The coasts mostly.

With the AWD package, I wouldn't be surprised to see a good number of these go up in Michigan. Subaru is already pretty popular for that alone.

I don't see why not! There's not much else out there like the Stinger. It's a pretty unique car especially at this price point.

This story is a bit misleading. When Kia rolled out the K900 it didn't "hand pick" the dealers. There were specific requirements that the dealer had to meet in order to sell the K900. This included special training and a showroom display kit that added up to an ~$30,000 combined cost for the dealer. This was on top of having to acquire some $60,000 cars as part of your inventory. Only about 30% of the dealers agree to these stipulations (the 220 listed in the story above). The same thing may be happening with the Stinger (special training and showroom displays) but the dealers may think there will be a higher take rate for the Stinger vs. K900 so more of them may come on board this time around.

These numbers were confirmed by James Bell (Director of Corp. Communications) in the KBB Kia Stinger clip from the Detroit Auto Show.

"The two liter will be north of 30 and the GT shouldn't be more than 50."

This is the exact same pricing information that Kia provided at the Philly Auto Show.

I speculate that the final AUD RRP for the Stinger GT will be $53990.00 (Base model will start at $41990). These exclude our country's "on road costs". The price on my deposit contract shows a little higher, but it was (still is) a speculative dealer price back then to lock in my interests.

In the US I am going to go with base starting higher than $31,990 (the base price of the Cadenza) with the GT coming in under $49,900 (base price of the K900). I think the destination charge with be $900.

Hi guys just jumping in to let you know my current experience is, I live in NSW Australia and have put down a deposit on the gt stinger , I have been advised by the dealer of $58,000 . I Was told I will be getting there first stinger which is exciting, I will keep everyone updated with any news I hear from the dealer

The BMW 340i and 440i start at $89,990 and $99,990 respectively in Australia. Yes that's $90k and $100k before you start ticking options!!! Now you see why I am jumping at the opportunity to get a Stinger GT at well under $60k I hope.
