Thanks, that will come in handy - didn't see the giant 'MAP ERROR REPORTER' tab on their menu bar - might be time for a new prescription ...That link is on the mapnsoft website, too.

Click on the 'I' icon on the top right side of the page, to the left of the language setting (EN) - that goes to Help, which details the editing process as well as setting up a HERE account. There's also a 'feedback' link at the bottom right, to report 'Other' problems. No Help link?

Select the 'MAP ERROR REPORTER' on MnSoft | KIA Map Update (US) (US) or MnSoft | KIA Map Update (CAN) (Canada).
Unfortunately neither Waze nor Google Maps are integrated into the HUD system
Talked to Kia Canada today on the update this morning, and they were very friendly and helpful. She did need to go research the question and call me back (about 5 minutes later). Some additional info - she said there was a six month window after car purchase to request the update, and that once a file/case number was generated on it, the one time update could be purchased from MNSOFT at any point in the future, then submitted for reimbursement.
For example, if your existing/previous version map quality was decent in the area you are in, you could wait a year or more until substantial changes were made, and then do the reimbursable update. In Calgary we've had a bunch of road construction in the past couple of years, so I expect I'll be updating sooner rather than later - but it's nice to have that option ...![]()
This has nothing to do with the dealer. Reimbursement is by KIA.
First you have to open a file/case with Kia Canada - use the contact number on their website. They'll provide the details on reimbursement, you basically send a receipt and the file number (important!) to the email they provide. Can I ask how you file a reimbursement claim? I assume you'll need your receipt - do you make the file with customer service? Is there an e-mail you can use to submit?

Keep in mind the information I provided is strictly word of mouth from a KIA CSR - while I expect it is accurate, make sure you confirm the details with them when you are on the phone. The fact that she had to call me back after checking into it, and seemed certain of the process after doing so, would suggest they have developed a policy on this.
So you have already updated yours? I'm pretty certain this is a one-time only update.I called that customer service line a few weeks ago when I updated my NAV ...
Thanks, good to hear. I called that customer service line a few weeks ago when I updated my NAV and the person I spoke to was completely useless - said the dealership was responsible for reimbursement. Nice to know you have the ability to cover an update expense down the road, but I guess the catch is to open up that file/case within the 6 months.
