Kia Stinger Navigation Map Update

^^Thanks for clarifying. I've used microsd/card readers before in other updates, but the uvo system seemed particular. Come to think of it, it may have been the card reader itself. It has a slot for micro sd and regular sd. IIRC it maps each as a distinct device. Maybe the system didn't like that. It did start the updating but failed immediately.

I'd love to gain some console access to this thing!!

It took about 25 minutes for me.

Mine took JUST a bit longer. Perhaps it was because I had it update in background mode on my 22, but it took just about 3.5 hours to complete. It was a 22 GB download that had to unpack from the USB. It was a nice trip but I did burn half a tank of gas.

Yep it was. Was it the running in the background, or was it that everyone who has chimed in so far had an older system?

Who knows but the is 0 reason for it to take over 3 hours. None.

I believe the 22 models update over USB flash drive. The previous models uses a 32gig sd card . And on ours once you put a SD card with the update files on it the system recognizes it and asks if you want to start the update so I never actually have had to go into setup and manually find update as it asks automatically.

Also worked that way on my 2018.

I tried posting on the mapnsoft site re the detailed guidance issue (icon intermittently appearing/disappearing). Site was erroring out. I called instead. Woman said they've had issues with spam so it's read only for now.

She did indicate the next update should be out around 11/15.

glad my dealership keeps up with this stuff and cares whether or not to ask me if i would like my car's software updated.
glad UVO or Kia notifies me and i dont have to go search forums or the googley to find there are software updates.
you'd think UVO would just send the shit thru like the googley play store or your phone and just update the stuff. glad samsung keyboard is great at not autocorrecting even though ac is turned off.

Anyone successfully updated to V126.211123 on Stinger 2018? I just did mine and the process went fine, but the connected route no longer works (only onboard navigation works) and I lost connection from Uvo app to the car. :-(

I was previously running V120.201013 but the car forced my hand by telling me it is no longer going to give me connected routes unless I update. :-(

I thought I would just post this link for the Map and Software updates. The cost is a little high for a twice a year update. I need to check to see if it is covered the dealer in the extended Kia Warranty. I also do not understand why I can not just download it and install it on the SD card myself. I am happy that they did make it fairly easy to do.

Kia has now given free updates and yes you can purchase your own card ,there was a message to all kia owners. or go to google kia map updater then follow instructions NOW this is for USA don't know for Canada....I have updated my navigation twice .

I am running the same version (latest version realeased Nov 2021)

All is fine, connected routes seem to work normally, and the newly added this version - valet mode works as well.


Can you elaborate on what you mean by "you lost connection to UVO app from the car"? The maintenance countdown?

If UVO barfed call and ask for a reset, it'll come back online immediately.

that's because pre 2022 usa stingers got the older uvo e-services rather than the full UVO connect that canada and most of the world got with their stingers.

Even in 2022 models, it isn’t available in Stingers sold is Massachusetts.
