Kia Stinger Navigation Map Update

I have deliberately not purchased these updates because I use Android Auto rather than Kia's map system for navigation.

There is nothing to purchase, the updates are free, at least in North America.

Patrick - I too despise the purple theme. If I understand you correctly - If I can find a older version of the card without the update, will my theme be 'normal' again (not purple)? If so, where can I find a card without the update and is that a good idea?

Well the older update installed just fine, at least I thought it did, and it was just a couple of days before some issues started so I tried to install it again and it wouldn't install for some reason. Maybe it didn't install right the 1st time. Anyway bottom line is I am back to the purple screen now that I don't like.

Apparently you can’t go backwards so no point doing the above.

But I guess I should check now. My software is 122S5A (from May, 2018). Am I missing anything important (e.g. Android Auto updates)? Any help on this would be appreciated.

Ruffstuff, if I may impose on you: I have the update saved on an official SD card. How long will it take to install it? I am assuming that I should wait to begin installation until I will be driving for a time greater than the time needed for installation; probably don't want to shut the car down before the update is completed! Thanks in advance for your help!

This new theme for the radio is absolute trash, there isn't one better thing about! I like the map update though.

Anyone encounter this yet? Every time I get a text message the notification pops up on my infotainment screen and it tells me it's from the same person every single time no matter who texts me. So I have no idea who the heck is actually getting ahold of me.

What phone are you using? You may have to forget it, and re-pair it, keeping an eye out for the prompt to allow access to your contacts and text history

Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. Yup, did that 3 times now. No change... Ugh. Even tried changing my messaging app and that didn't work either

Check the permissions for the app, it might be there or in the general Android settings. If that doesn't cure it report it to the developer

Does anyone know if we have any updates for the software that runs the center screen on the instrument panel (between the tach and speedometer)? The navigation update really changed the infotainment and now the color scheme doesn’t match. Can the dealer perform any further software updates? 2019 GT2.

Not that I’ve heard of. I’m also sure your dealer would be dumbfounded by that question.

It’s an interesting question though as the 2022 Stingers have new software for that screen but no clue whether ours is updateable or not. It would be nice if they could push that out in the next update but just not sure if it’s even possible via the SD card.

This happened to me today. When on the climate screen, changing modes is not altering the image properly. (so you have no idea what climate mode you're on. )

Apparently it's a bug and they do not have a fix for it. I was told to wait for the next update and hopefully it will be fixed.
