This isn't a mass produced trim, there are 800 being made. This was their chance to have a 60K Stinger that was insane.

I guess I'm the oddball out. I'd totally pay $60K for a GT2 AWD, Carbon Fiber everywhere, Drift Mode, D-AWD. Sure, it's more money, but there are 800 of them, wild paint job. Why not go all out?

I actually just caught in the press car. The Electronic lift gate button? It appears to have everything a GT2 has inside, but no HUD?

My last car was a '03 Acura TL Type-S A-Spec, with only 800 made and exclusive to Canada, so I like the exclusivity as well. And the reason why Acura was releasing a special edition vehicle was cause of the new face lift for next year, so there was a huge manufacturer's rebate, which I took full advantage of. So I'd look to see if there's some big rebate on the GTS.

Having owned somewhat rare models in the past ('84 GLI, '90 GTi 16v, '94 Corrado VR6, all Canadian models), the exclusivity charm wore off long ago - every (*&@#$ part was 1.5-2x the cost of the normal part, etc.. When a deer ran into my Corrado in '04 (not that old), I got "the last driver's door in North America" shipped from California.. Kinda funny because I was moving to CA a few months later..

My '05 Legacy GT was SO much better for this - there were no real "specialty" parts, so parts availability was much better.

I saw one of these yesterday. Not all that special looking. I think the orange color kind of takes away from the classiness of the car. I don’t know if it’s actually released to the public yet, but it was a Kia employee driving it, manufacturer plates and about a half mile from Kia’s US headquarters in Irvine.

That must qualify as the first spot of the orange as in "Stingers in the wild". Maybe put it in there as well.

I find that hard to imagine. Fed Orange seems like the Stinger's natural color (if you aren't going Red, of course).

Disagree - I see tons of orange Mustangs / Challengers - and the Challenger/Charger (Dukes of Hazzard) totally owns that color. Orange makes the Stinger a copycat or wannabe.

I would have liked something more in the greens, or at least more a "burnt sienna" color.

Everything can be accused of wannabe or copycat because of already existing examples. So what? We're not supposed to care what others think. And if the Stinger looks GOOD in that color it doesn't matter if Dukes had something similar on a completely different kind of car. The SEMA Stinger in Fed Orange looked GOOD.

My wife isn't impressed. She shares something similar to your opinion. Which makes me want to get it even more. But I have to count the cost going forward. And I am not making any moves to wrap my Silky Silver.

The orange is nice, but it's not a colour for me. Same goes for the Ceramic Grey - I like it, but don't want to own it.

Damn, I would have to agree. I guess you can have it wrapped, but that’s an odd inconsistency, just seems half assed on Kia’s part.

GTS D-AWD is 47K

You can get these GTs - AWD for 39-40k now. Yes that is right! I just bought two of them. Muncie has one that they will sell you for 39k. There are manufacturer to Dealer incentives on these cars now of 5k. Plus MSRP overage of 4% plus dealer holdback - you are in that 10k off range.
You are just going to hate the instrument cluster downgrade to the GTs. It sucks.
