well he did say the next light approached "Very quickly". If it was a light just a block up, and he got the jump, it could have been an RS5

Heh. Wait until there are more verified/finalized tuning options for the Stinger. RS5 drivers will be cursing that a Kia just took their lunchThe Audi S5 SB was the only car I considered when purchasing the Stinger. Now that the RS5 is coming and with a $30k plus price tag over the top line GT2, I'm wondering is a car like that worth it? To some folks I guess it is...

The only thing that I think Audi wins out on is the driver tech. Audi virtual cockpit is awesome and wish the Stinger had something similar. Of course there are those that prefer analog dials and stuff but I am a geek and love tech...when it works...lolThe last two cars I was cross shopping with the Stinger were the Audi S5 Sportback and the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport. In Canada, at least, the price on the Audi shot up a massive amount once you started adding options to get it close to the Stinger equipment level, but that wasn't the biggest factor. What really made up my mind was going to the annual auto show and sitting in both the S5 and the Stinger (GT Limited) back to back. I know the majority of reviewers consider the Stinger interior 'less premium' than Audi, but I actually liked it better, and found the car more comfortable as well. I bought the Stinger 5 days later and have zero regrets.
In another thread on this forum, prediction is for Kia to come out with a 2019 GT+ model with 430-440 HP and virtual cockpit similar to Audi's. Seeing as the new Audi RS5 puts out 444 HP out of a 2.9L twin turbo, I guess 430-440 for Kia out of their 3.0L twin turbo is very feasible.
Here is seriously hoping that the rumors are true!!!
In certain situations I'd agree. But stop light to stop light in two automatic transmission cars? I don't think so.
New RS5 weighs less and has about 90 hp more than a Stinger. As already stated it gets to 60 in under 4 seconds. In a quarter mile it runs something like 12.5 secon
It wasn't a rs5 then. I own a 2014 rs5 and have raced the stinger on 2 occasions and beat both of them with relatively no problem. I think you went against a s5. Did his spoiler pop up when you raced him?I had my first real stoplight challenge this morning. The competition was a newish Audi RS5, red in color. Guy in the Audi initiated the race, he opened his window and pointed his index finger forward. I nodded and put the car in sport mode. Green. I jump about quarter of a car length ahead and start pulling. Very quickly the next light was approached and I had to stop. I thought there will be round 2 but the guy made a left turn and I went straight. Holy cow stinger is fast! I really thought he was going to rip me to shreads. This car really delivers smiles per mile.
Well, I know from the hard way that a rolling 60-120 the RS5 can easily gobble us up. Thought it was a regular S5 until he started gapping me and I shut it down. Which is why I can't wait until Thursday, installing "all of the parts". Putting on the JB4 (map 3), Ark mids, MBRP axle back, AEM intakes, Velossa Big Mouth scoops, BMS intercooler, and IHK27 plugs. The butt dyno will be recalibrated.
