Kia Stinger GT vs Audi RS5

I beat a stock RS7 on map 5 with e30 in the tank from 50-140 twice on the highway he got it tuned a week later lol.

A 8 year old stock car vs a heavily modified new car doesn't really compare to OP's new RS5 vs new Stinger race. We're talking about a nearly 100 hp difference between the RS5 and Stinger.

Question, if Mustang GT due to grip and go from a dig is the issue of why they lose in 1/4 to a stinger, but at the 1/4 their blowing past the stinger (just a half second too late), all that torque at higher speeds, why was I able to keep up with one, right there, at hwy. speeds ? Shouldn't he have pulled away from me ?
It was at least a '16 or newer Gt from the front end design.
I only have 2 K & N Filters in their O.E. boxes, which I do believe allow for more air at these speed, but still surprised I kept up, like right up.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
This isn’t me just btw it’s AWDGT2 stinger! He’s killing haha my money is on him to break into the 10’s!!
ah okay!!

That 11.16 is the fastest that has ever been mentioned here.
that's really impressive! the quarter-mile numbers are only going to get better with time as people discover new mods and builds! :D

I don't know about that...it's been kind of stagnant over the last year and a half. I think low-11s might be the wall for stock turbo Stingers.

There's nothing wrong with bigger turbos...

As long as someone is willing to pay. A few have tried and weren't able to get tuning down. LAP3 has a whole kit and ECU tuning to support it but the cost is north of $15k! That's a lot of $ to spend on turbos & tune not to mention prematurely ending the 100k mile power train warranty.

Oh, I saw that thread. It made me drool. Hopefully with time and a decent platform life the turbos come down in cost.

I think when most people are heavily modding any car they don't care too much about the warranty... but ironically... I feel like a good percentage of Stinger owners picked up the Stinger because of the warranty! :p

Stock RS7 has 560 hp stock though idk what you mean and the stinger isn’t heavily modified it has a JB4 and intakes and muffler deletes. But yea stock for stock stinger wouldn’t have a chance on either an RS7 or RS5

We’ll see I think with some weight reduction he should be able to go .17 of a second faster in a 1/4 mile.

I’m sure nobody would put fiberglass doors and lexan windows on a daily driver but with that a carbon/fiberglass hood and rear hatch, lightweight driver seat, gutted interior and lightweight rims/ rotors I guarantee with all that and a good tune mid to low 10s would definitely happen.. don’t forget an 11.16 was done using a piggyback tune with stock injectors and most likely completely stock fuel system all together.... stingers still have a lot left in them even without turbo upgrades but bigger turbs would be amazing

For the cost on top of the cost of the car, why not just get an RS5/RS7(although used)? For the cost of a Stinger GT2, a C7 with maybe exhaust tune would embarrass both.;)

Going fast in a Corvette is not exactly a surprise to anyone. Part of the fun is blowing someone away when they don't expect it.

I think our cars "look" pretty fast to most people... since the majority of the population don't know jack squat about cars... heck I knew this guy from my previous job who picked up a based 420i coupe and would not stop bragging about how fast and crazy his BMW was... how sporty and exciting it was to drive... he almost passed out when I gave him a ride in my WRX... he kept saying "I didn't know Subaru made sports cars like this!" lmfao! :p

That's probably the direction I'd go before I'd spend $15k+ on mods on top of $50k for the car.

Used B9 RS5 for $45k + $1,500 for APR+, which comes with its own powertrain warranty. There you have 550 hp, a warranty, and saved over $18k.

If it's a.sleeper you're after, a M550 can be had for $45k and you're STARTING with 530 hp. Throw on a bootmod3 and you're over 600 hp for $46k.

I mean if we want sleepers you see people buying some old Civic from the late 1990's or early 2000's and strapping some insane mods on it... heck I knew a guy with a 2007 STI that was pushing over 600 to the wheels and would walk most cars on the road... but it was gutted/stripped and was a terrible daily driver...

I don't see why someone would cross-shop a Stinger with a C7 for example. I've driven a C7 and it's a bit harder to get in and out of than a Stinger while having significantly less cargo space plus being able to carry only a second passenger. Looking at a RS5 hatchback, RS7, E63 sedan, M550, M6 gran coupe, etc... makes more sense when looking to spend another $15k+ on a luxury GT with some kick to it...

To each their own. If I wanted to go for 400+ horsepower I would not have picked up the Stinger. I picked up the Stinger for the warranty. If I wanted to push crazy horsepower but still have a luxury sedan I would have picked up a used S4 from 2017+ and saved money for both mods and repairs.

Also, and perhaps it's just me, but I don't think any 5-series or E-class or RS-series car is a sleeper. Even if people aren't into cars I think anyone with half a brain can notice the more aggressive styling, louder exhaust note, and wider stance.

Meh? :rolleyes::rolleyes:

You're thinking about the 7th gen Corvette. C7 is Audi's designation for the A6/A7, made between 2011-2018. It's the generation of the RS7 shown in the video.

As far as sleeperness, a M550 is more of a sleeper than a Stinger. It really doesn't look aggressive at all.

This does not look like a car that gets to 60 in 3.5 seconds.

The S6 is even less aggressive. What average person looks at car and thinks "that car does 0-60 in under 4 seconds and has 450 hp."
