• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Do you have an Optima to confirm that.?

If so, you would hope the Stinger has it as standard.

Well boys as a few of you have found out aust has missed out on the islw not happy especially if the Optima has it .So we have too put up with the navigation maps which are way out of date .I drove on two major road today, nav said it was 100khr but it was 80khr which it has been for nearly a year, the other was suppose to be 80khr but it was 70khr it also was changed over year ago. Dealer said we get free up dates for 10 years but it looks like it not very often. The next thing that happen was when I got home from the dealer I opened the back hatch then it wouldn't close, so boys read the manual on manual closing and resetting the limits very frustrating. The exhaust we might get it by Christmas still testing 3 models.

Hi all new member here although have been hanging around awhile,
On Saturday got to see my first stinger GT in person and took it for a test drive.
Now my background is definitely old school V8"s and commodores but,
Im am suitably impressed by this car looks, drivabilty and power delivery.
And cannot wait till middle of November for my snow white pearl, black interior rolls up
Hopefully by then the exhaust will be here. Any one have news I have been told end of
November for exhaust.

Having ceramic paint protection and leather protection done as my dealer has a special on at present we’re the cost is $1900 for protection package with lifetime warranty and you can have either $300 for kia accessories of window tinting so opted for the tint and then they said they throw in the Matt’s when they are available. Also prepaid for the bimodal exhaust and the tow package. Car should be ready by Friday. Plus really happy with the red leather and the DCB paint job. I think the red really goes well with the blue.

They couldn’t give me a time frame for the extras but as I am Leasing through Work I wanted to add all the extras as I don’t pay the GST on the total cost. Car is $59990, on road costs are $5028 and I added $2500 for bimodal then $1000 toe bar paint & leather protection is $1900 - my $1000 deposit = $69418. Then - $6914 GST = $62504

Wow Richard you've done well, same colour combo as mine. Looks like you got a better deal than i did. I think ill opt fot the bi-modial exhaust to. Lot of experts have been critising the lack of character regarding the standard exhaust. Does anyone know the low down and where the exhausts are being done? Off site somewhere? What dealer is your car through Ric? My dealer still hasn't got a demo yet!!

Has anyone come across a list of dealers in Australia that have the Stinger? I'd like to post something up to make it easier for our members and guests to find one closest to them...

Hi there, appears that most in Victoria have stock. I've dropped into a few dealers. I've even heard from dealers in rural NSW and upper north QLD.

If you are starting a list, here are some of the ones we know of:

If any Victorians are free tomorrow (Tuesday 17th), Ferntree Gully Kia are having their launch night.

Lakeside Kia (Caroline Springs) will be holding theirs on Wednesday 18th.

May be worthwhile if you're not thinking of taking one for a spin just yet.

The exhausts were being developed in a warehouse in Dandenong VIC. They are called 'MSX International', who also did a bit of development for HSV. Not certain if manufacturing will take place there.

I can only assume it's not a bolt on kit that can be dealer fitted - but it may just be that way. Wouldn't think they'd send you off to a welder to fit into your stock bits.

Just a heads up: if you do go down the line of the bimodial exhaust install - ask for your factory parts back.

Thanks mate helpful. Im off to the dealer tommorow to see a customers car thats come in. Strange though that the dealers demo model is still a month away? It seems we're always slower here in Nsw?

No probs.

I think dealers had a limited allocation to begin with. It could be very well that that dealer had "pre sold" all their stock before registering a demo. Silly, but very probable.

90% of the Kia Australia demos/press cars were all NSW registered with the exception of one with VIC rego.

A rep from Kia Australia advised us that stock started rolling into dealers from QLD, made its way to NSW and finally to VIC.

Sainsbury Kia in Dubbo have a SWP GT. Also Heartland Kia in Castle Hill have their launch night at some stage this week if you're interested. Not sure if they are anywhere near where you are.

Let us know how you go anyway :)

I've been following this car since it's conception. To say I'm excited is an understatement! Haha. Although I won't be adding one to my driveway, I'm very excited to see where the Kia brand is headed.

And obviously love connecting with likeminded enthusiasts :)

Hi Richard,

any chance you would have some more photos of your car........it looks sensational!

Has anyone found additional insurance companies with the Stinger loaded in their vehicles data base for online quotes?

Here are a few I found today:

All based on the GT

AAMI - $779 ($550 excess)
BINGLE - $840 ($695 excess)
CHOOSI (comparison website) provided several quotes from $848 ($500 excess) with BUDGET DIRECT. Strangely the Stinger is not listed on Budget Directs own website?

This list from CANSTAR shows their the best rated providers based on your age, gender and location:

Forgot to say yesterday that while talking to the boss dealer he stated that he heard that the bimodal exhaust may be delayed do to fuel consumption numbers. He said if Kia has stated a certain number of litres per Km and that is not what you get with a Kia add on exhaust there could be a lot of complaints. He was not sure if this was the main reason why they are not ready yet.
