• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

My biggest disappointment, silver paint looks cheap, yanks get piano black & cover, would like a full size spare also, 18 x 8 all round, I will wait for update, got test drive monday, gunna bitch & moan about console

I have to say after having it for one day it is definitely not cheap and nasty. What you don't see in photos is that it's brushed aluminium which helps to hide the finger prints. The areas with the gloss black show fingerprints which would drive me mad and previous cars I've owned that have it do scratch very easy. I have a mini microfibres duster to deal with potential scratches.

It is a weapon! So many features that work perfectly without a hitch, too many too mention. My die hard Holden/Ford mates have easily been won over. Their faces are priceless and all agree that photos don't do it justice. They can't get over it being from Kia and how far they have come.
So happy with the Snow White pearl paint, it gleams in the sunlight.
Leather feels incredible. All of you getting delivery in the next few weeks won't be disappointed and I will say it, its worth every dollar!
It will change people's perceptions which is what KIA are trying to achieve.
Can't wipe the smile off my face.

Hi all! My name is Mel. A couple of you may know me from over across at the Proceed/Optima owners page and Kia GT Aus on Facebook.

The SEQ members who have collected their cars are organising a meet and cruise if anyone is interested. No need to join us on Facebook, I'll post the details over here shortly.

I'm in Melbourne myself. Checked out the 330Si that CarAdvice has been smashing for a few weeks and have popped into Blackburn Kia to see their demos. They have both the 2.0L and GT there for comparison.

Congrats on your new cars! Looking very forward to the Aus community have many years of happy motoring in their Kia's.

Welcome aboard, Mel! Thank you for signing up! Let me know if you want a special area to post about meets or clubs, etcetera. Send me a direct message (aka private message) as I might miss it here. :)

Allan I went for a drive in Sorento sport the other week and that has the piano black finish in it. It looks very nice but as soon as you touch it the finger prints showed up every where and they are a pain in the ass to clean because it shows up every little scratch. I pick up my stinger next week and one of the things I plan on doing is getting a spare rim of an optima to replace the small spare. Have you had a close look at the stinger in the flesh yet because if your that worried about the small stuff I,m sure you may change your mined once you have a drive.
I hear you on the Piano Black trim , I have a Sorento , the way around it is to get it wrapped in 3M vinyl , there will be local shops that can do it for you and tons selection of finishes and colors , the carbon vinyl looks great............lots of vids on youtube showing it " vinyl wrap dash trim "

Thanks so much for the support. We started off as a Proceed GT Club but that quickly expanded to Optima GT's - and now Stinger's since a lot are trading in :)

Will send a PM directly. Cheers!

Although it's in the manual it shows "if equipped", I don't think it's included in our Australian package because it's not in the menu setting to enable or disable.
I think the speed limits that are shown on the map and HUD is pre programmed in the Satellite Navigation.

Aww I thought the ISLW was included. I assumed the TOTL GT would have it. I double checked the brochure and indeed it is not mentioned there. I was looking forward to having that feature. Oh well, I hope it is just a software/firmware update in the future if ever.

Has anyone come across a list of dealers in Australia that have the Stinger? I'd like to post something up to make it easier for our members and guests to find one closest to them...
I don't think so but collectively we would know the dealers who have recieved demos and stock in our areas?

Ok let's start with.
Tom Kerr Kia - WEST RYDE: John Paul.
Great service they have a ceramic grey GT.

Lifetime subscription for navigation for Stinger.
As for the HUD in regards to Sticks query and speed display this might help.
All good to me when I drove around for 45 mins or so in various speed area, including in a couple of streets where road works was on.

Oh, even the Ceramic Grey was a head turner.
Incl a commodore driver pulling up in front and taking pics.
I am sure he is going to test drive soon!

City Kia in Richmond Melbourne have a Black GT with black leather. They also have an Si demo but didn’t see it see Sam for great service

I am going back into the dealer today so I hope he can shed some light on the ISLW .It has the 360 deg camera so it should work. but there are a few other things missing on the aust car. Will inform you later
