• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

Ha ha......comedian in every group...:)
Yep you'll get used to Mad he's the resident micky taker. The dreaded stinger wait plays heavily on most.

Thank you. :) I believe they're finalizing their new Stinger store now. They have a vendor forum here and you could contact them through there to get information...
Contacted them - David got straight back to me and gave me a $$ discount code which also gave me free shipping - great deal. Looking forward to getting the new badges! Looks like everyone's a winner!

David runs a good operation and I trust he'll take good care of everyone here. :) I'll be looking out for pictures of your freshly badged Stinger!

Has anyone had trouble with their nav maps not up to date. I did a trip from Bribie Island to Port Macquarie and found myself in the paddock more times than not. They are that far out of date. Even when I was on the old highway north of Brisbane it had me in the paddock its been there for over 100 years . I rang KIA who told me we get free map upgrades for 10 years and I told them the maps they supplied are at leased 18 months out of date. They are looking into it. Other than that I was very happy with the car avg 8.2l/100 for 1800 Kl. Last 461k from coffs to bribie avg 7.1/100 at an avg speed of 95 kph in eco mode on 98 fuel.

I've found the speed limits are not always correct. I've been through several speed cameras where the car is telling me the speed limit is '70kmh' when it's actually a 60 zone, for example. And nothing's changed for 'years'

Yep agree, maps are not as current as they should be.

Keep pushing your dealer to have new maps sorted asap.

Yep same problem. Have found a number of speed limits are out of date by 12 months. Got my new rego plates on today. I had reflective stickers made and was planing to stick them straight onto the bumpers but the dickhead at the dealers used large self tapping screws to put the plates on and instead of pulling the plates to the bumper it pulled the plastic bumper out by about 5mm. We tried the cut this back but it looks shithouse. So I had Perspex laser cut to the same size as the stickers and screwed the on. The blue is lighter than I wanted but it’s has to be the same as the plates so that’s it. Dealer also told me that he has now ordered the bimodal exhaust. He stated that he had to fill out a number of different forms and Kia wanted the engine and Vin numbers before they would order the parts. He stated he has never had to do this for any other part on other vehicles. Strange.

Yup there is a particular form that has to be signed and sent off to Kia directly to order the bi-modal exhausts, they should arrive to dealers later December early January

After seeing Richard red strips I thought I would show you my effort. I also put a rubber bumper strip on it too due to high kerb damage I had on the ss. I removed the strip on the front that Richard painted. I also clear vinyl all under the doors which isn't covered by the red insert.

Hi Sticks,

great example of the personal touch, the car looks awesome!

Questions:
  • where do I get the adhesive rubber strip to run under the bumbers?
  • is the clear vinyl on the sides also to protect the paint and is it fitted around the red vinyl strip across the entire section that runs under the doors?
  • what is that crest you have embossed on the front bumber?
Thanks

Sticks looking great mate. Can we have a pic of the from straight in front. When you said you removed the strip that I painted red what did you mean. Did you replace it with something else?
