• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Ok working in a place called Zeehan for next 2 days. Zeehan is a small town in NW Tasmania and it’s 128 km from home which takes around an 1.5 hours if you know the roads. I filled up with unleaded 91 octane fuel before I left. The first 45 minutes of the drive is on nice straight undulating highway driving through nice open country side. The next 45 minutes of driving is through fantastic winding mountain roads with lots of great views. I have driven on these roads many times as I work here as a paramedic and get to drive on these roads quite fast if needed but I have never driven on these roads in a sports sedan like the stinger. All I can say is I didn’t want to stop driving through the mountains. The handling of the stinger is amazing on these kind of roads and was only in ECO mode because I wanted to get the average fuel consumption. At the start of the trip I set the cruise control to 100 kmh and when I hit the winding up and down mountain roads the cruise control worked amazingly well due to the engine torque. There was no running away on the steep downhill areas as the engine and gearbox Work very well and I never had to hit the brakes once’s. I usually drive down here in a 2002 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 with auto gearbox and driving through these mountain roads quickly is quite a challenge and I find it quite tiresome. During the drive through the mountains I noticed I had a massive smile on my face, and I know that might sound a little weird but I was just having so much fun and also so comfortable and relaxed. My end fuel consumption was 9.7 L per 100km in ECO mode. Even with the stinger in ECO mode it just chewed up the mountains with ease I’m very happy with the stingers performance and the best bit is that the roads are used today are far from the best driving roads down here so on my days off I’m planning on having even more fun on them.

Richard - Thanks for sharing .... I've just picked up my SWP GT last week, with <200k on the clock now. Very impressed, even while I'm still 'nursing'!!

We have a road trip with the family booked (Syd-Melb-Tas-Return) with 10 days in Tas, so I'm very pleased (not surprised) how the Stinger eats up the roads!! I may come back to you with some road suggestions <<wink>>

I have a hot tip..... Quad tip..

Bimodal exhaust due January..... Cost $2700...........
Terra im believing a few of us got quoted about $2500 for exhaust. Is there something different about your "quad" exhaust?

Any owners received a maintenance schedule pricing yet?

Hi blackGhost. No problems mate what time of year are you in Tasmania. Happy to give you any info on Tas and what’s worth doing and what’s not. Can also give you some helpful advice on driving over here. People make the mistake of thinking it’s a small state so it’s easy to drive around,it’s not

Funny, in May I got "quoted about" $56,990 for the car.....

Yep, I was quoted around the $57k mark, took a deposit then $66k. Thanks for coming.

Ended up buying another brand and I wont be back in the foreseeable future.

I can understand that, got goughed myself has damped the whole experience. If the exhaust is $2700 will forget and shop around later. Whether i can live with the artificial sound ill wait and see.

I think they have lost the plot with the exhaust at that price seeing it is included in the usa. I hope we get some pictures of their loud exhaust when they are released the Korean one are cheaper at $1950

That's in USD..... Once converted, shipping, and fitted works out more.

I meant everyone gets a better deal than Australians on price. I buy a lot of filters and parts overseas and save up to 200% on items
